Perhaps the Cornish Owl Man sightings are actually night sightings of an escaped West African Crane from the Cornwall zoo. Though that bird is only three feet tall, it has an imposing six-foot wingspan. Glimpsed briefly and unexpectedly…. spreading its wings at night… especially if it is flying directly at you… it could easily be taken for a human sized anthropomorphic bird creature. It’s American cousin, the Sandhill Crane, is often cited as the alternate identity of the West Virginia Mothman. Could the Cornish cryptid be the really-truly Mothman on vacation ?

I’m familiar with the Owlbear. Nasty creature. Takes a lot of hits and maybe a crit or two to take it out.

Learned of “new semi-mythical” creature today, Australian Panther, feral descendants of house cats creating havoc in the Australian Outback, averaging 22 to 33 pounds.

I guess he’s not grounded anymore for tossing his shoes?

The “See you Monday” in the last panel of that sequence suggested a weekend grounding.

Wikipedia, making no reference to the powerful effects of a bit of late-night scrumpy, explains:“In Cornish folklore, the Owlman (Cornish: Cowanden), sometimes referred to as the Cornish Owlman, or the Owlman of Mawnan, is an owl-like humanoid creature said to have been seen in 1976 in the village of Mawnan, Cornwall, UK. Reported sightings of it flying above the church tower have led some to believe the creature may have been a barn owl, a species that commonly nests in such places.”

Seagull is waiting for Spud to get out of bed so he can hop in.

We did exactly that. I have a picture of me and my cousin talking to each other on walkie talkies when we’re about 5 feet apart.

Absolutely love the visual representation of the walkie’s time delay. I can hear the last panel in my head and that makes it even funnier!

Those howls you’re hearing are not the owlman, it’s a feedback loop from your walkie talkie!

They’re not walkie talkies, but radios that we use on our place. I can communicate with my hubs when he’s out falling trees, or when I need something. When he’s falling trees, I usually listen for the power saw, or just call him, although he’s very hard of hearing.
