Just a reminder, while some forms of polyester are biodegradable, most of them are not, and polyester production and use contribute to pollution around the world. Look for 100% cotton when you can.
These early strips are interesting. I didn’t start reading the strip until much later. But it seems Grandma started out uptight and a bit cranky. I can see it as a valid plot device. But I’m glad she changed.
when Sims video game came out, I used to create characters and name them after liberal politicians like Clinton, Carter, Jesse Jackson, etc., and stick them in the swimming pool, pull out the pool ladders and watch them turn into little urns. Would do that to the boss I couldn’t stand too.
I ironed until I retired, then I changed into jeans and t-shirt, got rid of all of the button downs! True story: Getting rid of stuff, little by little, put an ironing board by a free sign (I’d been saving a new one for my daughter for 20 years) got rid of the tablesaw, camping gear, and various sundry stuff, but nope! NOT the ironing board! No one wanted it!

When did they start running the daily strip again? Have I lost my mind? I thought we were just seeing Sunday stuff.

I love Val’s maniacal laughter in the last frame.

I still iron occasionally. I don’t like the feel of polyester next to the skin. Mostly, I find cotton wrinkles distract from my own. :)

Jesse Helms? Rush Limbaugh? Pat Buchanan? They seem downright quaint compared to the social and political rhetoric nowadays!
