I had two missed calls show up on caller ID with no name. Called one out of curiosity. Recorded voice: That # is not in use. Into the blocked number list with it.
I was at a local store some time ago and encountered a friend. We were talking when his phone rang. He took it out of the belt clip and showed me the Caller Id. It showed that he was calling himself. He answered the call and it was a scam call telling him fraud had been detected on his social security account and unless he sent money, he would be arrested. He hung up.
If they don’t leave a message – it’s not from God or important. I don’t waste my time answering the unknown. Not even when I die. Call forwarding to St Paul, Damascus Road.
I have gotten a call from my own phone number. Aren’t we all thankful to Congress for passing the number portability law that allows this to happen. And how we respect Congress for holding hearings to determine how to stop this, yet they don’t do the one thing that they should, repeal the law.
This is better than the mailing I received this week from my doctor’s office which was addressed “To the Estate of Brent Rosenthal”! When I called the doctor’s office the lady asked me if I am the executor and I said “actually I’m the deceased.”
My phone is set to block any calls I get from numbers that are not in my list of trusted numbers. Yesterday, I got a call from a number not in my list. In looking at the number, it was a local number, so I decided to call it. When I did, I got a recorded message saying, “The number you have dialed is not in service.” Phishing and/or spoofing, I suppose.

I need more memory for all the blocked calls just from this morning!
The scam calls seem relentless this month. BTW, Trump, Biden are not texting in-spite of the message title….
