Phil’s book sounds like one gigantic yawn—just like this arc! Bring back the father/son conflict!

I was in the subdivision of Montclair in Pensacola, Florida when a shot rang out. I thought to myself, “Is it squirrel season?”

Then I realized they probably weren’t shooting at squirrels.

(Shooting humans is not sporting. Too big, slow, and easy a target….. And take forever to skin. Squirrels? Now THAT’S sporting!!)

WW II touched virtually every American in some way. The army has a lot of different jobs. Depictions of the war most often focus on those who see combat on the front lines. A lesser theme has been how it changed things for those on the home front. Maybe a book from the POV of someone in the service who didn’t see combat would be interesting. Actually heard interesting podcast on WACs and their work on clearing out backlog of mail from and to soldiers in London. A company clerk might have an interesting perspective on the war as well…

But probably needs some minor edits.

That would actually be OK if you just added a paragraph describing some of your thoughts.

My parents were in the resistance, neither talked about the war and what went on in it.

Doonesbury not a “political comic”, says GoComics

I am disappointed – but at least we can still comment here.

Considering the plethora of “vanity publishers” out there, Phil could get his book published. Nobody would buy it but it would still be published
