And you don’t know what you’ ll have for dinner.

She even managed to burn a pop tart.

An Old-timer remembers way back in the day: When I was a boy, my momma would send me down to a corner store with $1 and I’d come back with 5 potatoes, 2 loaves of bread, 3 bottles of milk, a hunk of cheese, a box of tea and 6 eggs. You can’t do that now… Too many security cameras.

It could be worse. She could have given him burnt coffee and a cold toaster pastry.

Maybe Brutus will have a better lunch.

Breakfast of chumpions!

Be thankful Mother Gargoyle didn’t prepare your breakfast.

The coffee is an easy fix with the breakroom microwave. I would just stay away from the toaster pastry on general principle and get some mini donuts from the vending machine.

You could have trashed it and got an egg McMuffin and a scalding hot cup of coffee or got a better breaky elsewhere.

It’s the thought that counts, Brutus. Gladys thought she’d make you a quick breakfast and get you off to work. Then she could go back to bed.

…and for dinner a nice portion of hot tongue and cold shoulder.

he needs a hash brown with that…

His breakfast on the run will give him the runs.

Gladys at least tried. Those toasters can be tricky things though.

I use to drink instant coffee… I don’t anymore cause I always somehow make it too strong. :}hey, if it’s too burnt for you, maybe I could have it. I like burnt stuff. :g

Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick Brutus .

Get some doughnuts from the store next time.

Buy her a decent toaster and ask her to make Taster’s Choice for you. Unlike other instants it’s freeze dried from actual brewed coffee and tastes like brewed coffee. One of the many reasons it’s the most popular coffee in the world especially among first responders like police and firefighters and also military personnel.

Brutus be grateful for the small things……..

Nothing better! Actually, better than nothing. With a cup of coffee, it will hold you till lunch. Hopefully, she will never do it again……

Followed by the lunch “special” at the diner and then a Gladys home cooked dinner and it’s definitely a Monday. Of course for the Born Loser there are 5 Mondays every week!

Microwave the coffee and scrape the carbonization off the toaster pastry. Remember, it’s the thought that counts.
