Looks like Gabriel may be planning to air all of TracyVille’s dirty laundry as a parting gesture on his way out of town. He’s about to learn, though, hand-operated 19th century technology isn’t built for speed.
1- DT: Well, as luck ALWAYS has it, I’ve solved the case by just being in the right place at the right time. Great work ME!
2- SAM: Tracy? Is that you in there? How’d you get in there? How am I able to even lift my arm with 200 pounds of prime man-meat on my wrist? I’m so confused…
3- FATTY BELTBUCKLE: I have sensed that Tracy has had one of his ridiculous epiphanies that would lead to my immediate arrest if I wasn’t one step ahead of him. Now put the linotype in your car and we’ll continue to publish from there. Being mobile will mean that Tracy will never know our location! Oh – and your passenger seat is now my office.
Gocomics has now disabled comments on all the political comics. There are a couple of sentences in Gocomics’ announcement that should be of interest to all of us. I highlighted them in bold:
As of July 17, 2024, GoComics will no longer offer commenting on political cartoons. Our goal is to foster an engaged, thoughtful community. However, maintaining a respectful environment has become increasingly difficult given the divisive nature of certain topics and the tendencies of some to provoke controversy as the 2024 election approaches.
On top of this, GoComics uses an outdated commenting tool that lacks the capability to effectively moderate the comments and ensure compliance with the site’s commenting policy.
Given these circumstances, we’ve made the difficult decision to remove commenting from political cartoons. This is likely not a permanent measure— we hope to reinstate comments in 2025 with an improved commenting platform.
So there will be a major overhaul of the comments boards in about 6 months.
Wow…linotype. I entered journalism just as linotype was ending. The Chinese-language newspapers in New York used them for their printing. The machines had both Chinese characters and English letters.
ETAOINSHRDLU.
The order of the linotype keyboard. That’s the order letters most commonly appear in English words.
A casual remark that her name, “van Duivel”, is Dutch for “from/of [the] devil”.Typical of storytelling to move up the payoff instead of abandoning it and running.
“Start up the car Roscoe, and put Flash in the backseat! I’m not having that dog in my lap!” screams the definitely not Boss Hogg villain of the story. Hopefully, we get a shot of the two conspirators in Daisy Dukes.

I wonder why Gabriel is sending his compositor home early. There’s something Gabriel wants to do secretly?

Enid,Oklahoma was the town that Big Frost passed himself off as the Sheriff of in 1948 so he could get into a police convention and kill brilliant.
There actually is such a town, and the NY TIMES recently said it costs more to insure your home there than anyplace else in the United States.
Big Frost is dead, but can we blame him anyway?

Too hurried in Panel 1—Tracy looks pretty raggedy.Sam great in Panel 2,though.
Will o ur villain be defeated by the slowness of a linotype machine, compared to the speed of modern machinery?
While you’re at it, bring Rupert Murdoch in for questioning

I’d be more kind towards the linotype operator. Pressmen who know how to operate that piece of history, aren’t that common anymore.

Wow! LOVE the first panel with Tracy. Great image! Wish it didn’t have the “guest writer” box over the drawing. shucks!

It’s interesting, some days I get less than 20 views, and some days I get over 400. I wonder if I’m posting the videos differently.
