Heh. And they say gravity is the weakest fundamental force.

Maybe if your car could drive upwards you could, though you’d suffocate due to the lack of oxygen.

When I was in sixth grade, I wanted to become an astronaut. I never found that path, but the path I did follow led me to be well educated in science and technology. I thank space for that. I still watch the sky and dream of what could have been.

No, that’s “MySpace” that’s taunting you. It’s a quiet taunt these days.

Correction. Space officially starts at 100 KILOMETERS up, or about 62 miles. That point is known as “The Kármán Line.”

In space, no one can hear you protest. Not even if you’re a UNICORN!

Astronomer Fred Hoyle was the first to point out that if you could drive a car upwards at 95km/h (60mph), it would only take about an hour to get into space.

To get to the Moon would take a little longer though, since it’s 400,000km (250,000 miles) away – around 10 times the circumference of the Earth. So it would take as long as driving around the world 10 times – just under six months. – BBC Science Focus

I tried it once, wasn’t worth the effort. Place is actually dead boring, doesn’t have any atmosphere.

So, we’re in inner space? What’s the range on middle space?

You’d only have to drive for an hour to get to space, but it’d take close to half a year to reach the moon.

If cars had better tires we could get there. The phrase “riding on air” is not just a metaphor.

It’s not taunting, you, Phoebe. It’s INVITING you. If you consider, YOU can’t drive to your grandmother’s, either. One day, you will be able to. Same for space, if you want it enough.
