I grew up in the 1960s and early 70s. “Finding yourself” was a big deal at that point somehow. My parents had different standard answers to that phrase. My dad’s was “Go look in the mirror. There you are.” My mom’s was “It’s not about finding yourself. It’s about finding out who God created you to be.”
