I saw a video of a toad trying to eat a saddleback caterpillar. If you aren’t familiar with the caterpillar, this one deals hate and discontent if you touch it, a terrible sting. That toad couldn’t spit it out fast enough.
Feed them both, each the food that is appropriate. Wood for one, bugs for the other, starving any critter is not nice, unless it is a dangerous spider or other vermin, but good or neutral critters should be fed.
