Spiders are fine for outside pest control.

When I lived in AZ I went to a neighbors house and in the kitchen was a huge spiders web. He said it was to control the insects….I said you’re full of it! In AZ (Mesa area) the only household pests are cockroaches and scorpions. Spider doesn’t mess with them

The friendly bats, (Gomez and Morticia) that return to my house every summer take care of my flying pests.

In my personal experience, spiders are more reliable than Orkin, and no less friendly.

    Centipedes are also insectivore predators.

I don’t want them in my house, but I leave them alone if they’re in my garage. My theory is that if they’re setting up shop, there must be bugs to eat, and when the food supply dries up, the spiders will move on.

There is that one spider, though …

… you really don’t want to mess around with IT.

These jerks have been trying to sell pest control in my neighborhood all summer, and that’s their big spiel “spiders”. I’m like her, the spiders are our pest control.

Spiders here include black widows. Very large black widows. Pest control outside? Fine. Inside unless it’s a daddy longlegs or a wolf spider, it isn’t allowed to set up shop.

My thoughts exactly. Think about what they eat. If they are thriving…well, need I say more? In fact, was he listening to me yesterday when I re-located a spider from the bathtub to under the kitchen cabinet to control the ants?

I like having my house spiders in their little corners. I also like my spiders in my garages and yard, even the black widows. The brown recluses I am not quite as fond of but as long as they stay out of the house, I am okay with them. I also love my black snakes that hang out in my landscaping. They are so beautiful.

*I try to not kill any animal living close to me – I did finally eradicate a red ant hill in my back yard – but only because they were bothering our Siberian huskies – we have pest control keep our rodent population down but that’s because our dogs like to hunt them, both in and out of our house and the dogs are destructive – quite aside from the fact that their fleas carry “hantavirus” which is dangerous to humans – I try to accommodate the animals in my world, because they were here first…

Tarantulas (wolf spiders) in my basement keep the brown recluse population down. Tegenarias help also.
