Not long after I got engaged, I had a friend who came up to me and showed me his wedding band and said âWedding ringâ. Then he took it off and showed me the mark around his finger and said âRing of Death!â. I remain unsure if he was telling me it was my fault because I encouraged him to ask her out. He did. Theyâre still happily married. And so am I.
This story does not match my own experience. After high school until I was in my early 30s, I went to a lot of weddings. There were kids from high school who had been dating in high school that got married right away. There were a bunch of marriages after the 4 years of college with friends marrying their college sweethearts. Then after that I was participating in Single Groups and there was always someone from those groups getting married. After I got married, then the invitations finally started to die down. Now, it is rare when I get invited to a wedding.
How many of these young marriages actually last? From what Iâve seen, many donât. A lot of them end in divorce because people change as they grow older. Thoughts? Stories? Good outcomes?
âMy first husbandâs wedding ring left a deep impression on meâor I should say,on my lipâŠwhen he hit me during our honeymoon. Bruce was one of those beautifully mannered foreign phonies. He was the first one on his feet when a pretty girl entered the room;the first one with a lighter for her smoke; and the first one in the lifeboat(we were on THE ANDREA DORIA)
After a six-week courtship I married this royal four-flusher, and a double ring ceremony was HiS idea..
You can bet your boots my current husband does not wear a wedding ring and never will"

If thatâs Rhetta looking at Mike laughing, she seems to have a worried expression on her face. Maybe anticipating a âMike-lessâ future?

Panel 4: Lynn has Rhetta colored-in, giving Michael the side-eye, in order to make a subtle suggestion that they are next to get marriedâŠ

Donât worry, after you get married they become easier to see because of all the weight they put on.

Like Rhettaâs side eye sheâs giving Mike. Would be really funny if she catches the brideâs bouquet. Would love to see the look on Mikes face.

Maybe Gordon should have married Allyson Creemore. She is hotter than Tracey.

I am thankful there have been no remarks about Farley this week.

I do remember this punch line very clearly from the first time around. I donât remember Brian looking so horrified. Itâs not a bad line.

When they laugh theyâre always drawn like baby birds with their tongues sticking out.
