That would be Georgia, but Red should aim higher: The Ohio State University. Besides, dogs like trees, and buckeyes come from trees, so there’s that.

Good to know that Rover does things with Red’s Dad as well as with Red.

Our Mascot was a moose because our school was Riverdale. They could have picked Hotdog though, Archie’s dog. Or was it Jughead’s dog?

My daughters’ college mascots are Lion & Owl. Funny thing is, my older daughter has collected owls for years, but that’s the younger daughter’s mascot!

I’m partial to the Washington State Huskies (though they actually use a Malamute, which is a bit of a cheat) but that’s still better than what they were using, which was “Sundodger” which made little sense at all…

I’m a great fan of “mascots” and believe EVERY ATHLETIC team should have at least one – Tommy Lasorda famously “hated” mascots and would never allow the Dodgers to have one – but he and his prejudices are dead now; living close to Albuquerque, I’m familiar with Tommy’s likes and dislikes as he used to manage our local minor league team before moving up to the dodgers…
