Everyone here knows my story . I’ve been married five times . I’m a loser . I am still married to number five but this time I am the one being kicked to the curb . Friday my wife had to be taken to the emergency room and it was found out that a cancer thought cured has reappeared after fifteen years and that various other complications indicate that her time is short . Very short . The hospital is arranging in home hospice and I will be on the watch for something I’ve never had to deal with , the death of a spouse . Life’s great comeuppance has come for me . Nothing seems very funny about my past failed marriages now . Now I will know what it’s like to be cast aside . All of you fine people out there do something for your loved ones today and let them really know how much they mean to you . Life can change in an instant .

I think the hitchhiker is much more at risk than the guy who picks him up. If you want to rob somebody, there are much easier ways to do it than standing in the road for an hour while teenagers joke-swerve at you and throw things from windows. But offering yourself to get into a stranger’s car dangerous.
