My husband will send me off to the store “unsupervised” when he wants tasty snacks he wouldn’t normally purchase. One time, not knowing me shopping alone was code, I came home sans goodies. “But I sent you unsupervised just knowing you’d bring home something we didn’t need, snack-wise!” I think Janis must do the same when it’s time for Halloween candies.
Anybody else recall when Halloween was the only time you could buy ‘fun size’ candy. Eventually the manufacturers realized there exists there is a year-round appetite for them. After all, I am just going to have one or two…where did the bag of candy go!?!
Oh my….you can’t tell me Janis doesn’t realize she asks Arlo to go out and get the candy every year(!) so he’ll buy such products in excess. When he does, she’ll pretend to be upset at him but will eat the candy so it doesn’t go to waste without feeling culpable herself.
Last year we bought a box of single serving salty snacks and didn’t get any kids. Then we noticed we had 30 bags of HOT stuff. Neither of us are really into hot, but my wife’s son house sat for us a few weeks later and he ate all of them in three days.
I’m really “bad” …… buying no candy, and turning out the lights ……. I punish my bad behavior by not having any “leftover” candy for myself after the night is over……… sigh
Same reason my wife sends me to the bakery when we “only need a loaf of bread”. She knows I’ll come back with a little sumpin’ sumpin’ and she gets to claim innocence.
Why did you send him out to get Halloween candy when you don’t get many tricks or treaters, or are you upset with the choices he made because u will be eating what is left over and they aren’t your favorites. Like they say, do it yourself if you want it done right!!

Looks like she’s having a hard time opening the bag. I can identify with that.

That is how she gets the candy.

We always have no trick or treaters because we live 1/4 mile down a gravel road. Every year I buy what we like.

And Arlo takes his job of eating the candy before it has a chance to spoil.

Never buy Halloween candy too far ahead of time because you will have to go and buy more Halloween candy for Halloween night.
Will E. Makeit Premium Member about 1 month ago
Okay, then don’t eat it, Janis! Let Arlo take care of it…

You get to keep all the candy for yourself if you don’t put out any decorations and keep the porch light off.

You don’t give Dark Chocolate or Sea Salt Caramels to kids. Even M&Ms can only be distributed if they’re prepackaged in the little bags
