When they lived in Oklahoma, my brother and his wife had a cat named “Köttur” (the Icelandic word for cat, sounds like “cutter”). When people would call “Here kitty”, Köttur would ignore them, but when someone said “Kisa” (the Icelandic version of kitty), Köttur would come. Apparently, the cat spoke Icelandic, but not English.
The name Roscoe means “doe wood” or “roebuck copse” and is of Cornish origin. It can be spelled as Rosco, Roscow, or Ruscoe. Roscoe can be a good name for a dog because it can honor ancestors or celebrate nature. The name can also inspire a dog to be graceful like a deer or mysterious like a forest. Yes , I looked it up.It’s a lot different than what my huusband said it was.
When my mother started dating a man with a cat killing german shepherd our cat was banished to the basement and was renamed “the jabberwocky” after it went a little insane and fearful.
Thankfully she found a new loving home with a woman my uncle had nicknamed “the fish head”
But see, Earl, the cat is only “mean” and “ornery” towards YOU. With Opal, it IS a “cuddly, lovable furball.” Muffin knows who appreciates and cares for her – and the feeling is mutual.
Our clowder has the following: Odinsdottir (big black floofy NFC), Kei and Yuri (A pair of Siamese littermates, they look like Lovely Angels, but are really a Dirty Pair), Phryne, A tortie and cream with an attitude and a knack for getting into trouble, and lastly, a little Tuxedo named Fred after Frederich Austerlitz, who always looked good in a tuxedo. They have other names, but they have kept those secret from us.
Had a snake named “Cuddles”. She was a 9 foot Burmese Python. Really loved to cuddle, especially with rats and bunnies. But alas, as with Lenny, they did not survive.
Pit bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers are “the babysitting dog” because of how well they look after, and protect kids… the only dog to be on the cover of Life magazine three times… the all American dog… woof woof! :)

Our extremely fluffy black cat has the longest, most animated tail I’ve ever seen on a cat. Squirrelly Dan’s name fits him perfectly.

We really didn’t care for the name of our rescue dog Jax. But he started wagging wildly whenever we said it, so we decided we better not change it.
Now he’s known as Jax Dog.
