Just listening to Calvin is exhausting.

Calvin has lots of Tiger Odes. They are all pretty good.

Hobbes is not pooped, he just ignoring Calvin.

Resting up for the big pounce.

Whassamatta, Hobbes—you don’t like corn??

That poem could do it…

He’s not pooped, he’s luxuriating.

What tigers have to put up with just to get tuna fish sandwiches.

Letting sleeping tigers lie, it’s good to be a tiger.

Still and quiet feline form,

In the sun asleep aned warm,

With his silence, he has learned,

The pounce he knows that you have earned.

Today’s reprint can be found in the book collection Scientific Progress Goes Boink! This week’s reprints seem to be reprints of the strips from the week before Christmas Day 1990 which was on a Monday. I hope that tomorrow’s reprint will break the pattern and show the Christmas Day strip for 1990.

The Christmas Eve strip for 1990 was a large single panel strip showing

Calvin and Hobbes both relaxing by a warm fire and a poem by Calvin:-

“On window panes, the icy frost

Leaves feathered patterns, crissed and crossed,

But in our house the Christmas tree

Is decorated festively

With tiny dots of colored light

That cozy up this winter night.

Christmas songs, familiar, slow,

Play softly on the radio,

Pops and hisses from the fire,

Whistle with the bells and choir.

My tiger is now fast asleep

When the fire makes him hot,

He turns to warm whatever’s not.

Propped against him on the rug,

I give my friend a gentle hug,

Tomorrow’’s what I’m waiting for.

But I can wait a little more.

This poem certainly brought out the sweeter aspects of Calvin’s nature and his very rarely seen patient side.

Lying there as warm as toast who is it Calvin loves the most.

After such a spontaneous effort at prose, you cannot convince me Calvin should be having problems at school!

The reason cats sleep all the time is the same reason our teenage children do…we LET them! (also, it keeps both out of trouble!)

Just realized pooped has two meanings. Kinda goes along with what happened last week. My wife and I bought a refrigerator from a scratch and dent sale. They we went to a restaurant that makes their meals from scratch. God, English has go to be one of the worst languages to learn as a 2nd language.

Do not arouse a sleeping Tiger. Calvin should know that by now…

Living with Calvin is exhausting.

Normally it would be all those carbs that make you sleepy, but Hobbes diet doesn’t acquire much of those
