In high school English Lit, we had a discussion on what Shakespeare was trying to accomplish with one of his plays. My response “Make money” did not go over well.
I noticed all of our posts so far all refer to creators in the male gender. When the brain power behind language drives behavior, I wonder if we were more inclusive might we advance a tick in our developmental journey? (Sorry, coffee hasn’t kicked in)
With the “Modern Art” I think the artist has been told how good they are when creating terrible “art” and gullible people accept things like a single rock and paint slashings as true art. Art has lost its way.
It’s probably the fact that we all enter into this world with all its problems, having a sense of obligation exist to leave this place in much better condition than it was.
The earliest known cave art was created by Neanderthals over 64,000 years ago. There’s something inside of us that really wants to create pictures of things.

I think some here read ‘Man’ literally. Calvin is referring to ‘Mankind’ and not a gender.
Personally l blame Neil Armstrong.
