If I’m just hanging around in the house all day and nobody’s coming over, I’m being comfortable in my pj’s. I’ll even walk down to the mailbox in my pj’s! I’m too old to care.
The nice thing about being retired is that one doesn’t have to dress up every day. The really nice thing about being retired and living in the country is that people call to see if you are home before dropping by — giving you time to become appropriately attired [and get the morning dishes done].
The nice thing about being retired is that you tend not to care about what other people think. When you do that, life get much simpler and more enjoyable. You wear what is comfortable, you eat when you’re hungry, you sleep when you’re tired. You only hangout with people you like. You only do what brings you joy. Happy New Year everyone. [Yes I know what’s over the horizon, I’ll decide what to do about that when it arrives]
In the winter I switch after it gets dark. I go out just after dark to put peanuts out for the flying squirrels that visit at night and then change. In the summer I’m in bed before it gets dark so my wife puts them out. If we put them out before dark the other critters eat them.
We only wear our PJs to bed. Once we’re up, we switch to comfy sweats, with which we lounge around the house, do chores in, fetch the mail, etc. If we have to get in the car and go out, we switch to “street clothes and shoes”, which come off once we’re home. Not into bringing everything that’s out there in the world into our private haven, thank you.
depending on what I have goin’ on a particular day, I might stay in my pj’s all day in the winter… (unless it’s snowing and I gotta clear the white stuff away…)
I live alone, & in winter, if I don’t have to go anywhere or see anyone, I live in the same sweats & fuzzy robe for days at a time. The dark, cold season is so depressing to me, I need all the comfy coziness I can get!

Woke up too early yesterday and got “nodding of sleepy” so took a nap. Guess I really needed the sleep. Didn’t wake up till 7 pm.

I always think it would be nice to hibernate, or something close to it.

If she isn’t going to go anywhere, my wife stays in her pajamas all day. So no, 4 o’clock is not too early, maybe even not early enough.

Never take them off. Another big mug of hot chocolate, a thick robe and perhaps an extra marshmallow.

I love the long days of summer ( so long as temps aren’t triple digit ). Last night I fell asleep to a movie and realized it was only 6:30. argh

I often put on pajama pants and robe late afternoon. My S.O. calls me Hef, I act like I’m smoking a pipe. It never gets old.

I hardly ever take mine off.

Why take them off? To get to and thru winter barn chores, we just pile on more layers over the PJs :D
