I’m not an eco-fanatic, but I do care about preserving some large areas with little or no development. I’d hate to live in a big city and get the feeling the whole world was being turned into pavement and skyscrapers. When you live in a smaller urban setting surrounded by farms and woods, where groundhogs, squirrels, ‘possums, raccoons and even deer sometimes show up in your back yard, you get the feeling it’s possible to have modern amenities and leave room for nature, too, especially when a short drive takes you to where you can see little else but trees, streams, ponds, and lakes all the way to the horizon.

Ever take a walk and night and notice how much more noticeable nighttime scents are? Maybe that explains nocturnal hunters.
