Our snowplow drivers are pretty good, each snowfall they alternate which side of the street they do first, love it when it’s a light snowfall on our days, not so much of an obstacle.
My neighbor piled all the snow in the middle of the road. The plow driver plowed all of the snow from the street at the end of his driveway. I gave the driver a $20 tip and a thermos of Hot Chocolate.
I remember getting up at 5:00 AM so I could help my dad shovel the driveway so he could drive to work. Then I’d have to go out a couple hours later to shovel the end of the driveway cuz the plow went by.
One year here in Wisconsin we had so much snow that by February the only place I could shovel it onto without having it come right back down off the top of the head-high piles was the sidewalk leading up to the front door, so I filled it in and for the rest of the winter we came and went thru the garage. Hadda get a temporary mailbox near the front end of the driveway, too, because the main mailbox was on the front porch, which was inaccessible.
Our small Wisconsin town was plowed by the county and would be done by 5:30 so I could clean it before work. The town started doing it a few years ago and have gotten very good at it but they do it later so I have to park in the street after work until I can get it cleaned up.
I believe it. When I lived east of Lake Michigan, in the SW corner of Michigan, I believe that was true. Shovel out the driveway, just get in your house and remove your wet outer garments, and here would come the plow to fill-in the end of the driveway again. AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
Once the snow is plowed and piled, most of it hardens into ice which is then much more difficult to shovel, if not impossible. I was lucky in that when I lived in a snowy location in California, the plows would push the snow to the middle of the street, so the berm would be there instead of in front of hoses or businesses. Fortunately we had wide streets.

Yeah, there is nothing like watching the street plow make a berm in your snow-removed driveway… #!@^!

One thing about living on a T-Intersection is every once in awhile I get an idiot snowplow driver who puts all the snow right in front of my approach.

As I learned as a youth you better know who runs the plowing contracts in town before you start screaming at them for thus.

Snow plow drivers in the shopping center where I worked buried a car after we got 30 inch of snow. Spring came and went before he got the car back.

I plowed for over 30 years. The only cars I enjoyed plowing in were the ones that had a big driveway but left it/them out on the street.
