Was the bird a hawk, or an owl?

That would be a hawk in my neighborhood. Had to guard my puppies when they were little to keep them from being carried off by them.

How come dogs never pick on something their own size?

Be very specific on the bird species you wish to be.

Be careful what you wish for….there’s no warm comfy bed and you have to forage for food and GASP! There’s no TREATS!

For a moment I thought that this was referencing the bird-eating squirrels in California but then I realized that it was backwards. Duh! So, probably a much bigger bird, like a Hawk or an Eagle.

I’ve had Labradors since 1986. This one looks exactly like Wayne. He’s asleep next to my chair. Several of my females did jump and catch birds as they were taking flight. Each bird was promptly eaten. They aren’t supposed to eat birds but they do!
