    Flintstones, meet the Flintstones

    The Post-Apocalyptic family

War burnt big cities down to bedrock

It was a most terrible tragedy

    .

Somehow human beings saw the light

They made peace and ceased to fight

    Old inventions reappeared then

Run by creature power, then men

    .

    Like the new Flintstones

    Had a yabba-dabba-doo time

    A dabba-doo time

They had a don’t-say-gay old time.

First you come up with a signature saying, then the theme song naturally follows. Yabba-dabba-do!!

But you do have a theme song………

Well, I lay my head on the railroad track

    Waiting on the double E

But the train don’t run by here no more

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

Oh, these boys won’t let me be

    Lord, have mercy on me

    Woe, woe is me

Well, I met a man out in Hollywood

    Now I ain’t naming names

Well, he really worked me over good

    Just like Jesse James

Yes, he really worked me over good

He was a credit to his gender

Put me through some changes, Lord

Sort of like a waring blender

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

Oh, these boys won’t let me be

    Lord, have mercy on me

    Woe, woe is me

Well, I met a boy in the Vieux Carres

    Down in Yokohama

He picked me up and he threw me down

He said, “Please don’t hurt me, mama”

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

Oh, these boys won’t let me be

    Lord, have mercy on me

    Woe, woe is me

    Poor, poor, poor me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor, poor me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

    Poor, poor, poor me

    Poor, poor pitiful me

The perfect one for Leroy and Loretta would be “Love and Marriage”. just as it was for the Bundys on “Married…With Children.”

    Story time.

I got my start in the newspaper industry at the very bottom, doing overnight residential deliveries to pay for grad school.

At one point in time, the newspapers would typically arrive at the office some time around 1 – 2 AM. The ETA was never entirely exact, so it would usually be me and a few of the couriers hanging around the small office, which was a part of a retail strip sandwiched in between the main highway and a major through road that linked several neighborhoods and retail facilities to that highway.

One night, it was just myself and another courier. We were randomly talking about something or other when we suddenly heard random guitar music playing.

Me: “When did we get a soundtrack?”

After some investigating, we discovered that someone had walked over from a nearby apartment building and was randomly practicing his guitar on the bench that was in front of the office.
