Lynn Johnston really loved doing the “John is fat” jokes because her real-life husband at the time, for whom John is the avatar, was a fitness freak and was in excellent shape.

I thought she was referring to souvenirs.

I always pack our bags the day before we go home. I hate to leave that until the last day, only the last items will be packed on leaving day. Especially when we would have to catch a flight or vacate a hotel room on time.

One FL trip, I had to buy a suitcase to bring everything back, LOL!

That’s why I always left room in my suitcase when I went on training trips for the training materials and gifts to the kids and wife. Do the same for the motorcyle trailer when we go motorcycle touring. Between quilt stores, wineries and antique stores, it come home fully loaded.

Nope, it’s the souvenirs she bought.

You can’t just buy another suit case for that!

I feel bad for their son. Michael was portrayed as being better with relationships than the real person he was based on. Unfortunately, many of the girls he was with throughout high school and college were pretty much saying “that’s nice” or other disinterest when he tried to establish something in common; while looking to get their hands into Lynn Johnston’s deep pockets.
