I wonder how Frazz will surprise Miss Plainwell for Valentine’s Day.

The Mythtickle strip did this joke a few days ago. But in a very different style:

Hey, kid, “Cupid” is the Roman name for the Greek mythological figure Eros.

I’ve tried the Cupid thing, but apparently pointing a bow and arrow at a lady when asking if she’d like to go out with me has been frowned upon by law enforcement.

At a booth in an olive festival was a sign “bowsan arrows”. I showed it to my son and made fun of it until the booth owner, a recent immigrate from Greece asked me to forgive his poor English. I felt like a jerk.

“Bow and Eros.” I like it!

Anyone remember the old Loony Toon where Cupid was represented by a miniature Elmer Fudd? Wicked little guy!

Hmm. So, the apparently the slings that Eros uses are very expensive too? Some guy named Bill told me they cost an outrageous fortune.

Reminds me: Go to Instructables and look up Shingle Arrows to see a modern, experimental take on an old pastime.
