He was noticed. He’s the only one that hit the target in the shooting range.

[nerd alert] What’s with the underwear on the outside of the armor? Even Superman dropped [sorry] that look.

The harder you work, the more work you’re given. I learned that long ago. Another reason why I’m enjoying retirement so much!

Mad once had “If Comic Strip Characters Were Psychoanalyzed.” Beetle Bailey was one patient, concerned about always screwing up, and was advised to change his attitude. He did so so successfully that, as Sarge told him, the Army had taken notice. “You mean they’re promoting me to Corporal?” “No, they’re sending you to Viet Nam.”

I worked with a guy who told me he tried not to get noticed – thought that way he’d blend in with the woodwork and never get laid off or given tough tasks…

It kind-of worked. While business was good he had less stress than most of us. But when business went bad, he was cut because the bosses didn’t know what he did…

My father spent the entire Korean Conflict (War) on 24 hour standby. We never got that desperate.
