email for more details.
If you’re not already there, never move close by to be near the grandkids. Chances are they will need to relocate due to job opportunities right after you complete your move.
this is STILL a comic strip, folks. As much as you want to escape the real life crappings that are now taking place in this F’ed-Up world… this is still a comic strip.
My son and daughter-in-law were living two states away when they had their first. They moved back to within a mile of her mother and five miles of us. It’s worked out fine. We see grandkids often, watch their sports play and give them stuff on all the regular holidays. It’s great.
As we get closer to April 1st, I just want to say it’s been fun bantering with all you folks here. The cost factor is not steep, but when you add the foreign exchange it seems a bit dear. I think I will just wander over to another free site. it’s been a slice. Y’all be good to each other.
I heard that one should live 1,000 miles from your parents. therefore, you are close enough to get there in an emergency, but they will not be dropping in unexpectedly. My odometer showed 1,003 miles and it was just fine!
Janis is alarmed at the “short” time to get everything done, and Arlo is TRYING to keep the perspective that there is plenty of time…. BECAUSE who in the hell wants to be in the moving “process” for NINE MONTHS. I can understand both perspectives.
But, truth-be-told, Arlo’s seems far more calming a perspective to me…. compared to nine months of “getting it done”.
I’ve never had that much notice to get up and movd. The longest I remember it taking was 3 months. Did 6 moves/6 states in 12 years. Do yourself a favor and don’t ask friends or neighbors to help, pay someone to do it.
That comment makes me think of a friend and her husband. Her husband wanted to be closer to his sister, so they sold their house and moved to a condo near her. Shortly thereafter the sister sold her house and bought a n RV and hit the road.

Look at the grin on Arlo’s face. Our boy doesn’t have a clue about how much trouble he’s in.

Sell the house “As Is”. The new owners will want to make their own improvements anyway.

DON’T do it, Arlo – don’t let your life drift on your kids’ whims.
nosirrom about 18 hours ago
I thought the kids would want to be in their new home before the baby arrived.
Or was this a prescient pregnancy announcement?
Egrayjames about 17 hours ago
She’s right. Arlo just doesn’t know it yet.

Moving is bad enough, why go thru the horror of contractors on top of that.

Janis almost makes it sounds like the house is in shambles.

Rent your place out. If the coast doesn’t work out, you can go home. It is also good income.

does A &J have a car? I’ve never seen one.
Heelboy 12 about 12 hours ago
You see that sheet of paper in Janis’ hand? Neither one of them are on it at the same time….
car2ner about 11 hours ago
plenty of time, not enough time. I’ve experienced this. I was surprised how much time it took and I think my sweetheart is still a bit clueless.
