I’m pretty sure Gunther is about to get a beat down. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Rosa will be very impressed that Gunther stepped up to help her and will give him another chance.

This reminds me of what some of my friends were trying to get me to do to pick up girls, which in turn is based on something from Fresh Prince: One guy acts like a jerk to the girl, then I swoop in to tell him off and hopefully pick her up. No, I have not actually tried it.

Oh, green coming out of Gunther! He IS growing a spine now! Coming to the defense of a damsel in distress, especially HIS girl! I know he would not do that with Luann – he knows Luann could handle slimeballs like this one, and Rosa probably could too, but GUNTHER wants to take care of it for her!

at first, I thought, Poor new guy……… Gunther will smack him, and Rosa will karate chop him as she knows martial arts………… but I just read Greg’s blog, the guy will have a name……… and I get a feeling that Gunther will try to get the guy, guy gets Gunther, but Rosa saver Gunther, and new guy gets annoyed, and decided to make his mission to make life miserable for Gunther

Read Greg’s Blog for comments on both the unfortunate choice of epithets Gunther used and for something about this new character. Meanwhile, back in the halls of Pitts High, Gunther will try to “rescue” Rosa, but there will be complications….

Today Rosa makes Gunther a MAN!

Yeah, shows similarities with Brad – and most men, I reckon. Dealing with the intangibles of relationships and it’s WTF. But deal with a real physical threat and forebrain shuts down – Action Time!

Gunther pulls out his slide rule from his shirt pocket and thrashes the guy.

The guy, licking his wounds, retreats to WW where he meets Ann Eiffel, and there they start a local bully’s club.

Now, this is getting good….

Tomorrow will surprise us all.

I was kind of hoping that it was Gunther who would surprise us with knowing judo or something.

Oh, oh, Gunther, call home and tell your mama to sell the outhouse, because this guy’s going to have your butt.

As Gunther is experiencing feelings he has never had before, I’m not certain what his actions might be. Idon’t he’s going to start with his fists. I think he will place himself between the greaseball and Rosa and end by escorting Rosa away. Short, sweet and to the point.

So, Gunther steps in and gets creamed, and Rosa takes pity on him— isn’t that how Brad and Toni got started? Is there any other way for relationships to get a jump start? A fun date? A good, flirtatious conversation? A kiss? Fighting off a zombie attack together?

This should be interesting.

Gunth is probably stronger than he looks hauling the gi-normous bookbag around with…

I’d be curious to know what the conversation/actions were between the cafeteria and the locker area.

@manabout, Rosa is not Dulcinea; I doubt she has any experience with men. Self defense is another matter; I don’t think she needs Gunther’s help.@Peterson, I don’t think she’d srt up a cousin to take a beating, she’s too nice.

Whoever said last week that jealousy would overcome Gunth’s hesitancy— hat off to ya!

But fighting is a skill that takes practice. Practice I doubt Gunther has. If the fight becomes physical, the only way he can credibly win will be through surprise. If he proves to be the victorious “Coward of the County”, the writer’s credibility is blown.

I remember a strip from many years ago when the younger, nerdier Gunther from middle school risked his life to rescue Luann’s puppy who had run into the street. He was rewarded with a kiss, on the lips, from Luann. This proves that Gunther will do ANYTHING for the girl he loves, no matter what the consequences. You have to admire him for that.

Is Gunther camping out at school? That’s not a backpack that’s a BACKPACK!

I am reassured that Gunther makes a fist with his thumb on the outside (of the fist)!

Woah, Gunther’s backpack is huge! If he’s smart he’ll beat TJ’s oily cousin who’s hitting on Rosa with it. >:D

For all the alarm bells and claxon horns going off yesterday regarding the (gasp) lack of color in the background. Greg handles all the coloring for the Sundays. Easy, frog, easy does it. Back under the bridge. Betty and Veronica will comfort you. The world ain’t ending.

LOL! The first thing that I thought of when I read this one was McFly. (BTW: It was George McFly who decked Biff. Marty was the son.)

NEVER underestimate an angry protective nerd. They’ll take the abuse alright, but they seldom will allow you to abuse or threaten those that they truly care about. When you cross THAT line all those years of pent up hurt and anger will release all at one moment on whom ever the individual(s) is/are that was unfortunate enough to make THAT mistake.

I think Rosa will take him down for the count before Gunther gets in range.

I don’t care if it is a set up. Sometimes guys need to be reminded of why women put up with us all those centuries…and why the “Goddess” loved us so much, we men…and made so many of us…

I hope Rosa demonstrates her (presumed) black belt skills in decking this guy, just as Gunther arrives. Gunther could then learn a lot from Rosa in what it takes to gain confidence and become more of a man.:I have no idea whether Rosa has any martial arts training, but I’m guessing it’s possible with someone of her background. Gunther obviously doesn’t have any.
