OK, a month of this has been more than enough, like 3 weeks more than enough.

It’s very possible, given her lengthy absece, that Luann will have gone through menopause when next we see her.

I wouldn’t say that Ox ran him off. He might have been a deciding factor but the fact that the rest of the students seemed to be against Les beating up Gunth was what really made Les hesitate.

Did I miss the name change of the strip? Didn’t there used to be a girl named Luann, you know, cute little blonde, brother Brad?

awful…pathetic and boring. Whatever happened to the toni and her abusive boyfriend story-line? Or her relationship with Luann’s bro? This is an unreadable strip rigjht now. ENOUGH already!

So done with this storyline…..

Toni’s ex-boyfriend is history – let us hope for good and all. Luann has been in a few Sunday strips, but of course that’s not enough.

Since this story line started, there have been, I think, two episodes of school violence (BIG time violence) in American schools that made big headlines. Maybe this has been prompting Greg to keep this story line going. Who can say? But yes, it’s time to move on.

Each day, I only need to read (at most) three comments before I come across a comment that leads me to believe only socially awkward, sheltered, mouth breathers comment on Luann. Same for Doonesbury + clichéd leftist piety

What a great story line— in just a month Gunther gets the best girl in school, overcomes much of his shyness, defeats a bully, and earns a new friend. I’m thinking maybe Mr. Evans is identifying with this character?And to our friend who yesterday argued with my thought that Ox is not dumb— please be aware there are all kinds of intelligence. Tried to find my old Ed Psych book last night, but it’s buried somewhere. Google it. And not only are there different types of intelligence, there are even different types of academic intelligence. Each person is blessed with a variety of level of aptitudes.

…agreed – very disappointed that greg took the obvious, stereotypical way out, but, it’s just a comic strip – can’t really expect more than that, apparently…

You know what I would really like to see stop? All the incessant carping that goes on in these threads no matter what Greg Evans does or doesn’t do.

How much are we going to run this story into the ground. YES, enough already or has greg hit a brain freeze for ideas. Maybe time to retire this strip.

This storyline lacked one thing. Like the song in “South Pacific”……….“what ain’t we got? We ain’t got dames”.Rosa should have locked Gunther in such a kiss that he forgot that the academic world even existed.

I think bringing in Ox like that is weak storytelling. Classic example of deus ex machina, just a lazy way to solve a problem. Too bad.

New storyline please.

I agree! Enough of this nerd story line, its gotten old and boring Evans. Time to move on to other characters with new plots and twists.

This chapter is closing and about time. This dude will always be a disgusting nerd until he actually gets down and dirty. The beat down will earn him respect and make him respected by himself and others. I think a nerd could learn to box or some kind of martial art and not live in fear for the rest of his life. He could take control of the situation as needed.

Have to confess I had been getting a little tired of this strip lately…but this Ox character, I like the guy. Has a lot of promise. Hope we see more of him.

Wonder if 77 represents Ox’s IQ. 70 is borderline learning disabled – challenged.
