“reading proof” and “proof reading” are two totally different things. Smart people already knew that.

My wife has never yelled or swore or pitched a fit in our ten years of marriage. This is TRUE!! BUT, when she is angry everyone knows and if we are out and about I get sympathetic looks from people. LOL

“…:you think we’d rather read proof of your bad manners?”It’s “proof read”, not “read proof”. I guess the meds make your head foggy.

No, it was correct as written. We don’t need to read proof that you have bad manners.

Now, if you were to make a bad mannered statement, we could proof read that for you, just to make sure it’s written correctly.

I guess the meds make your head foggy after all.

No comment about today’s FBORW, but I have a response to those who negatively replied to me on yesterday’s FBOFW: I know it was too much info, but I was just telling a little life story. To the guy who said if my mother is still around & that I should hug her & that, can’t. She died in 26 Sept. 2004, her father’s 93rd birthday by means of cancer, three years before Grandpa’s death after his 96th birthday. As for those who gave me sympathy for my grandparents’ loss, thank you (and thank you ahead of time for expressing your sympathy towards my mother’s loss).

Actually TL, ADD (Attention Defficit Disorder) was a valid decription at one time. I don’t keep up with the latest medical terminology so it might have been renamed since then.

Yeah, John is right, she probably picked up the habit from her mother BUT John, as the father has obviously not been doing his parental duty….that little brat needs a spanking! Behaviour is something that has to be corrected when young, let them do that and they turn out to be adults who don’t know how to behave or when to shut their mouths. Spanking is NOT abuse. It can become abuse, but in and of itself it is effective discipline. The key is to always explain why they are getting punished and don’t punish in your anger. There are way too many people walking around today (both young AND old) who clearly need a spanking. And no, you ridiculous pervs, not YOUR kind of spanking!

Yeah, I never tolerated that behavior when I had toddlers either. That’s when they were put somewhere to calm down, then we would talk about what the issue was in the first place. And most likely they would be told that they are not getting what they threw the fit over in the first place, so that they’d learn that throwing fits doesn’t get their way.Meanwhile, I know plenty of bratty kids (who are older than toddlers) who still think that throwing fits gets their way because their parents never put an end to it or they gave in to it. I have zero sympathy for them.Regarding the comments, why does this forum turn into an almost-daily insult fest?

Ellie needed to be told the truth, or at least reminded of the truth about her temper.

She will simmer, and be angry at herself, not John.

I can’t remember Ellie throwing a tantrum like that. She usually does the slow burn when she’s angry.

Susan is right. Must be mom liked the pink shoes because they matched the clothes. Maybe the colorist got mixed up and colored in the wrong color shoes today. Should be Lizzie has on the pink shoes while rolling and thrashing around on the floor.

Tired of people blaming kids bad behavior on ADHA/ADD or whatever!! What they really need is a good ass whoppin to give them an attitude adjustment!!!! Worked on me and it worked for my kids too!!

My daughter saw some kid try that and succeed, so she tried it too. I just picked her up, put my hand over her mouth, and carried her to the car. There, I said, “Now did that work?” She said “no” and we never had the problem again. No violence needed.

I hate it when I don’t get here until late in the afternoon (or early evening) and read comments by people to something someone else said . . . and the original post they responded to is gone – leaving me to wonder what that was all about to begin with. Very frustrating.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the cart. That’s what John’s pointing out. Kids just need a little time out when they throw tantrums-and so do adults.

As a former Child Protection worker, I can’t condone the idea of a full blown “spanking” or any of the other things it has been called here. However, the kid can be shown that this is very inappropriate behavior. One of my nephews was inclined to throw tantrums, but when I had him in my care I learned to watch for it, warn him sternly and we never had a problem. Basicially I just said “don’t you dare pull that on me” and he was so surprised, he forgot what the tantrum was going to be about. Kids just need parents.
