I don’t even think Ox can hear TJ. Wouldn’t it be great if, despite his size, Ox was a minor, so they would need to consult his parents before Ox can sign anything? Owners of WW or not, I can’t see Ox’s parents being very happy.

This is NOT gonna end well. I believe the term is subornation of perjury.

“Whoever procures another to commit any perjury is guilty of subornation of perjury, and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.” (USC 18, sect. 1622)

In short, Annie’s treading into criminal activty punishable at the federal level.

Somebody with a faster download speed check out the older strips. At one time wasn’t Ann’s office to the right of the main counter. Yesterday it was to the left.

We know that the other day was Ox’s first time in the location. So just by that fact alone he could be disproved that he was even in the store to witness the bite. God I havn’t hated a comic charater this much in a long time. Hopefully this one doesn’t get a restraining order against me. Death to Eiffel! =)

I love the fact that everyone tries to predict what is going to happen.

Here’s my prediction (I could be wrong). Ox is a good kid that has been raised well by his parents (or else they wouldn’t just hand him a credit card) and knows right from wrong (his defense against the bully). I think that he will realize that he is being used and not sign the paper.

Oliver Stone would strike a gold mine with this crew.

I don’t see this ever reaching a courtroom. The relationships between characters on this strip may get complicated sometimes, but the story arcs rarely seem to go that far. I don’t think we’ll see a judge in this one.

And as far as Ann’s looks go, good enough but I’ll stick with my Vargas girls (check out his art on the movie poster for “The Sin of Nora Moran” from 1933, an early indicator of what was to come). Apparently Vargas’ wife was both his business manager AND model…now there’s a guy who married well!

Remember how someone said OX parents could be the corporate people that Ann is hoping that by OX purchasing stuff will make her look good for the corporate so she could get a big bonus. I’m starting to think OX parents are the corporate people and to have a manager from their company to trick their son will get them really furious.

Perhaps Ann will seduce Ox and trick/somehow blackmail TJ into marriage , Ox to get him to sign and marry TJ to prevent him from testifying against her. A lot of work for 38 grand minus a third to her lawyer but Ann is evil and winning is everything. Could be another problem for her as they both may be under age. (I wouldn’t bet a whole lot of money on this scenario)

What TJ is doing is keeping an eye on Ann by learning her strategy he can try and spike her plans. Quitting now would merely damage her standing at corporate bonus-wise, and Ann has her eyes on a more lucrative payout.

I wonder if the person who told Ox not to sign anything IS is father? After all, I think we’re just assuming here that just because TJ was standing behind Ox, that he was the one who said it. Maybe Ox’s dad came in to pick up his son, he saw/overheard what Ann was saying and doing, and because Ox IS a minor, he was warning his son not to sign anything.

T.J., HUSH!Let Ox sign the form.1) Ms. Eiffel tricked him into signing a form, lying about what it was he was signing.2) Ms. Eiffel has Ox signing a statement that he was witness to the incident. Once Ox is under oath to tell the truth at the court case, her … perjury?… will become known.

Will that cause a mistrial? Unlikely. Witnesses will be heard, the truth will be determined, and the judge could decide in favor of Ann. However, he could award minimal damages, and then have Ann arrested.

Thus she will have a criminal record, which any future employer can discover with a simple background check.

Problem solved. (Unless Ann becomes vindictive, stalking those she feels wronged her. But we know she isn’t that unstable, right?)

Consistency isn’t exactly paramount here – Ann isn’t asking for permission to speak to him any more, is she? Greg has to tweak the dynamic a tad to make this setup work – she’s the manager, he still gets to insult her with impunity, but she needs a free rein and authority of her position to try to rope in Ox. .If TJ exercises his option to quit and ruin her sales figures, he could use that leverage to make her back away from Ox. It would ruin the fun of this plot wrinkle – so it’s on the back burner.
