Chum Lee, eh? So is this bleached-out surfer-dude any relation to former Col. Terence Lee, USAF?

Perhaps an allusion to Tennessee Tuxedo’s sidekick, Chumley the walrus?

And I thought Haf ‘N’ Haf looked different.

Number 11 today! My dream is to crack the vaunted Top Ten one day soon, LOL! Hmm… I wonder if Chum is going to wind up in the Aquarium water at some point…

I can hardly wait to see what lurks in the waters of the aquarium…

Now i wonder….how many fish jokes can Mike and Joe stow away in THIS story line? Maybe the dolphinitive fish-villain? The one with a porpoise? wonders if the other readers will allow me to skate by with that one….

at 8:35am i end up number 20, lol. i wonder… does chum have anything to do with arthur’s death? or phishface?? do BOTH of them?!?! maybe the “urgent business back at the office” is detective tracy looking for clues and wanting to interview phishface and company since it seems ol’ phishy works (at least) at the aquarium… i wonder what he’s got to hide?

With a name like “Chum Lee”, I’d expect him to look more Oriental, unless it’s s diminutive for some longer, harder to pronounce name. Either way, I wonder how long it will be before he changes his name to “fish bait” ;)

Could Phishface be an online predator or running a clearinghouse for ill-gotten personal banking information and credit card account swiping? In phishig scemes “baits” are used in hopes that the potential victim will “bite” by clicking a link or attachment and their financial information and passwords can be stolen.

Phishface reminds me of a cross between Charlie Chan and the Incredible Mr. LImpett.

Call me a snob, but when I see an Irish sushi chef, I run screaming from the restaurant.

OH, I like Chum’s surfer boy look! Nice contrast with that ugly spawn of Dagon!

Animal-looking grotesques are among the strip’s best! We have the MOLE, the RHODENT, PIGGY, and gorilla -like INFLUENCE. Phishface is a gret add-on to the bestiary!

i’d LOVE to know what the obsession with lovecraft’s stories are. i have read PARTS of one or two, and seen some flicks based on them… and i have to say that in my opinioin.. EXTREMELY BORING!

Read the Innsmouth story, is one of the less ponderous and with more action! Also the Dunwich Horror is good. Yog Sothoth Chtulhu Ftaghn!

ok, enlarge todays strip and look at chum lee in the second panel… compare it to this photo.. its a pretty close resemblance. i wish i knew how to put pics in the post like marg and others do, but this is th eextent of my capabilities lol!

the reason i point this out is because the photo is of ALAN RITCHSON who… if you dont already know, played ARTHUR CURRY in the smallville tv series a couple years back. just figured i would point that out. when i first looked at panel 2 closely, i thought it looked a bit like him, but when i blew it up and managed to find the right pic online.. like i said before, its pretty close :)

Anyone remember a crook in Dick Tracy named Rodent? He looked just like one and even ate cheese! I was just a little kid when I read the story but I remember Rodent was so low he even stoled money from his parents who were both blind! They didn’t look like rats by the way.

Phishface’s associate doesn’t look anything like a walrus.

I SO imagine hearing George Takei as the voice of Phishface.

The Great One, Joe the Bartender – DANG! I missed all the Gleason references…. I guess having ‘Crazy’ Guggenheim show up would have been too Obvious.
