Kyle is 13?! What?! He’s so giant! I mean i’m fine with him being a tween it’s just a complete shock he’s that young. I thought he was at least 15 or 16.
I can’t belivie i’ms aying it but … he’s not entirely wrong. He’s still not the best person this arc, but the entire point of the contest was to show him how hard this was. There was always the possiblty he’d screw up this badly. The risk was worth taking, but it was still a risk she knowingly took.
The men are incompetent schtick is kind of old. I do all the cooking for my family. The one time we hosted Thanksgiving, I did most of the cooking and it all turned out great. I even got complimented on my turkey carving skills, thanks YouTube. Last night I made banana bread for my son’s teacher, smelled so good that I wanted to eat it.
Relax, Kyle! I’m 76 and just last week, I let a pot of bean soup burn dry. . .I DID learn that vinegar and baking soda make it fairly easy to get the residue off the bottom. . .of course I had to explain to MY mom (whose spirit haunts the house) that I had to leave the pot to soak overnight in the sink. She was a real stickler for leaving NO dishes in the sink at night. . .sigh. . .
I blame Gene. He’s the one who asked her, “How hard can it be to cook Thanksgiving Dinner?” She just showed him. Maybe next time he’ll think before he speaks of that which he knows nothing about.
People are always looking to blame someone. Can’t anyone take responsibility for their own actions. everyone who is an adult is responsible in this scenario.
Oh no, this can’t end well. All the joy of the day, wiped out in a moments time. It’s best to admit defeat, Gene. Humility may be your only hope. Put the ladies on the couch with a bottle of wine and root beer, clean up the kitchen, and order Chinese.

This is why we should never let kids do hard labor, or we should at least just give them some assistance.

Funny, but having tried this method on both my parents, sister, and spouse, I can unequivocally say it is at best a Pyrrhic victory.

I’m not a good cook, but I handle the turkey every year because it’s almost impossible to ruin if you just keep an eye on the internal temperature.
