I guess the sound quality on radios wasn’t all that great back in the day. Since my teen years, I’ve learned that the Beach Boys were singing about huarache sandals, not archy sandals and that Ricky Nelson was talking about a sweet Fraulein down in Berlin town not his sweet brown eyes down in Burlington.
I never thought I’d be with a 50 year old, but my lady is 69 now and looks like someone out of Playboy Magazine. I’m blessed, and grateful. I have to go now…
Bad enough we had to have Cranky mangling Beatle lyrics, but did we need to see him DANCING too? There’s not enough eye bleach in the world to make me un-see that!

Can’t be singing about Lillian; he’s still off by about 15-20 years.

Well she was just seventeen
You know what I mean
And the way she looked
Was way beyond compare
He’s riffing on a Beatles song ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.

I mean I know these jokes are so terrible, and pop and rock lyrics often aren’t proper rhymes, but c’mon—seventy doesn’t rhyme with mean.

At least she’s significantly younger than Ed. He served in WWII, so he’s probably about 101 years old.

Crankshaft’s lyrics are simply more age appropriate.

Well, it would be kind of sick to be singing, say, “…you’re sixteen, you’re beautiful, and you’re mine!” at that age.

Is Ed supposed to be over 70? If Max is in his 20’s, Pam is in her 40s, so I assumed he was mid to late 60s.

Isn’t Ed changing the lyrics to match his reality? He may enjoy looking at an 17 year old girl, but possibly dating? He hasn’t shown that tenacity.
