Annie just needs the right owner. Someone into dancing bears and stuff. I know, she can be part of Family Circus!

that broke my heart with as excited as Annie is with Doug. She’s exactly the kind of dog a kid needs. Big, sturdy, affectionate…small dogs are biters and medium can be a little overwhelmed.

She looks like a sweet dog, I hope she finds a home. Any dog you own if you train them right and teach them right from wrong can be a valid asset to society. Heck animals behave better than children any day. Maybe Annie shouldn’t get to close to them.

OMG… Right in the feels!!! This strip makes me simultaneously sad and angry. It kills me that so many dogs get passed over for exactly all this stupidity! People will also pass dogs over because they “look mean” or “have something wrong with them” if they are missing an eye or a leg or whatever. Those are people that aren’t true dog people. True dog people look at the personality of the individual animal. I do love the ADOPT DON’T SHOP sign.

I want to reply but this says it all. Don’t judge by appearances and don’t be a " breedist". Punish the Deed, not the breed. I know some very sweet Bullies.

ANY dog can snap at a child if bothered too much, not just Bullies. A responsible pet owner will not just train but supervise their dog as well.

And thank you to all the rescuers, foster parents and adopters out there. Adopt, don’t shop!

Ok, that was me NOT replying. I said my preachy little piece so I am off to have a great day. I hope you all do too :) <3

not fair :( – fear can be a good thing sometimes – but unnecessary fear can sure ruin lives of men and animals

    I have been told I can be a little hard-hearted – probably true – but one thing ALWAYS gets me – a sad-eyed puppy/dog.

I volunteer at a shelter and it is filled with pit bulls and chihuahuas. Not the fault of the dogs there but the people who probably didn’t do the due diligence regarding the breed and didn’t follow up with proper training.

People forget that the pittie breed used to be called “nanny dogs” because they were gentle & good with kids, as well as very protective of their “human puppies.”

I love “Pitbulls & Parolees” because it shows what huge hearts those dogs have. So many of them go through hell, yet they’re still great big goofy bundles of love. One of these days I’m gonna get that T-shirt that says “PITBULL WARNING: MY DOG WILL LICK YOUR FACE.”

Dear Annie, I hope you find a happy home with lots of (((((HUGGZ))))) & faces to lick!

We have a dog of mixed heritage. She’s part pit bull, part boxer and part shih tzu. Yeah, I’m not sure about the last one either. She’s a vicious licker, but a sweet dog. When someone says puppy eyes, that’s her. My son-in-law fell hard for her when she wanted zillions of belly rubs.

Bad publicity from those who use them for guards and for fighting (illegally) and they are intimidating. But there is no good publicity for them is why.

Back in the late 80s, when i was a pizza delivery guy, i once delivered a pizza to a house and the instructions were to go through the gate next to the driveway and go to the basement door. Well, i went through the gate and knocked on the door, heard rustling in the shrubbery in the dark back yard. About the time the door opened, a HUGE Rotty came bounding out of the dark the owner yelled “Cupcake, NO!”. That was the friendliest dog I have ever met…but you can bet your last dollar, that I wouldn’t want to make her mad!

Poor girl – I’d adopt you if I lived in comic world! We recently adopted a mastiff puppy rescued from a puppy mill that was about to put him down. He is truly one of the sweetest dogs you could ever imagine. I will continue doing my part to save them all.

I have ‘pitty’ foster story I could tell but if I do and name the dog everyone will know who I am. Believe me …. I know how sweet an abused pit can really be.
