I don’t know what dentists make in Canada and their Health System. But it must be a good living. Sports car, new addition to the house, and now new furniture.

Yep, John. I would do the same. Just toss the beaten-up living room couch downstairs and buy a new one for upstairs. Why would you want used couch from yard sale or thrifty store? It could have bed lice, bed bugs, smell funny, etc. You don’t know the history of the couch from another home but you know the history of your own used couch currently residing in your nice living room. Elly has the right idea.

Husbands always get the last word. The smart ones say “yes dear”.

So she’s gonna move the bedroom to the living room??

SPOILER ALERT: If I’m correct, this is when Gordon moves out of the alcoholic parents’ house and into a room over the garage where he was employed. From there, he builds up a very successful business, and marries Tracy.

Thought that the water only damaged the downstairs. But that damage seems to have multiplied.

Well, actually, a couch rotation makes a lot of sense. Wallpaper? Not so much.

I’m very familiar with family furniture relegation and rotation. I get to revisit my old living room couches at one of my son’s houses, my chairs at the other’s home, and my dining room table and chairs downstairs in my wife’s “office”/“boutique”.

The only thing that wasn’t replaced when the remodeling bug struck was my comfy recliner – which admittedly did get reupholstered.

My Dad was always telling my Mom after she announced she spent $100 but saved $50… Dad would say, “You are driving me to broke by saving me money”…. LOL

So they had a flood, and apparently as I recall, no insurance, but she has John’s money to spend on a new living room. After they pay back they loan they took out to play the plumber.

They just paid for an addition. Must either have a lot of $$ left over from that loan, (doubt they were rich enough to pay ca$h) or she does not care. Meanwhile John has no say about this at all..even though it means more $$$ and more domestic inconvenience.

John, John, John, just shut up and go with the flow. This is the kind of argument that you have lost before it even started.

Can’t wait to see how arrogant and superficial Elly is in a month or so when the library lays her off! Maybe they didn’t enjoy her perfection-or-death attitude, either!
