Worst case of goldfish memory; I walked into the bathroom. Once past the door I forgot what I went in for……

This one’s going to make my head hurt. How did they remember that one of them sleeps in the castle? And how do they know they take turns? (Don’t recall.)

The orange fish should just say the same thing every night… Good night my friend, remember it’s my turn to sleep in the castle, you can sleep in the castle tomorrow night.

I think their memory lasts longer than a few seconds. They seem to know that a castle is for sleeping in long after they forgot what they were flipping for. Even after they decided to call the rock, a day, because they forgot the word rock, they still remembered the word ‘recall’ perfectly.

I feed my goldfish and koi at a particular spot in our pond. Whenever they see me approaching they swim to that spot and get very excited. They don’t do that for other people like the kids next door or my wife. Goldfish aren’t stupid.

It’s not true. Goldfish have decent memories, and can even be trained.
