Teresa. Naughty. Fishing for compliments again. Well, okay: You do help a few dozen people per day flex snark or even wax poetic wit, clever nuance, suppressed conceit, masqueraded narcissism.
If we get more Meta, are we eventually going to create some sort of creative black hole from which none shall escape? I’m working on a Sunday cartoon now… maybe that’s my theme.
Counterpoint: “Overlamification” is the cocoon stage that will eventually explode in a blinding paroxysm of Megalamification indistinguishable from true genius.
Also funny, was in a thread a couple of days ago where the commenter was complaining in a GC comment section about not having time to read a mere 1000 word antidote referring to it as a dissertation. Interestingly apropos.
Today’s back-fence gossip finds us wallowing in self-deprecation, plus in the end a slap to the face to jolt us awake. I imagine Sister chucking to herself as she reads the comments and evaluates the Truthiness of our responses and the psychological status quo they imply.
Have caution in what you say and how you say it. Not too lame, but not too bold, either. There used to be a Happy Medium (a Chicago theatre I’d attended https://tinyurl.Com/33hnut43)….

…I don’t like to know how they make the sausage…
…I don’t want to hear a rock star saying that he knows that the fans love hearing a certain song, but he hates it…
… he hates playing it…
…he’s sick of it…
…Journey was once famously asked if they ever think of changing things up…
…nah, they stated…
…our fans wouldn’t like it…
…oh joy…
…Faithfully pt. II & III & IV…
…I know…
…I know…
…I know…
…what a hypocrite I am…
…hate them if they hate playing their hits…
…hate them if that’s all they will play…
…I told you…
…I don’t want to know how the sausage is made…
…but I do…
…that’s why I use Bathmat Factory gummies…
…and hit my head my head against wall…
…and read Frog Applause multiple times…
…daily…

Right itself? Like an overturned turtle, legs akimbo? Maybe all it really wants is a belly rub.

So painfully lame it walks with a limp. With both legs. Uphill both ways. In the snow.

It’s deluded to think that art can be “low” or “high”. Art doesn’t have altitude, it only has perspective.
