That’s actually a pretty impressive woodworking project. I wonder if the mortician would object to having him provide his own casket. Maybe he’ll embalm himself, too. And then there’s the burying part.

Clint Eastwood: “Get three coffins ready”

You don’t need the fancy. You can be buried in a pine box and almost anywhere where you don’t affect the water table. So a farmer’s field, back 40, with permission.

My Uncle’s friend for 60 years drove past a grave yard, at the side of a highway, one day he looked and saw some headstones with the same last name. Interested he investigated, it was an old part of his family he did not know existed, the grave was a family plot, special by-laws, and trust kept it viable. Since he was family he could be buried there, free of charge.

So he might have made it for himself. However, if he took on a certain look whenever she started complaining, it might make her concerned about which of them it was being made for.

It’s the last gift she will get from him. A nice place for her to rest. He has to finish it before Sunrise.

My neighbor built his own casket after he retired. He worked on it for several years and it was and is a shame it’s no longer on display in his barn. It was really a piece of art, now hidden six feet under.

And now you know why husbands die before their wives. BECAUSE THEY WANT TOO!!! The husband always learns too late that the “until death do us part” line in the wedding vows was actually a goal.

For reasons which escaped everybody, Mum refused to put a tombstone on my father’s grave. “God will know where he is when He wants him.” When she died, nobody knew exactly where he was, but we all remembered he was buried next to the Traftons. So we buried Mum next to the Traftons. Except that my dad was laid to rest at the lefthand end of the row and she was buried on the far right end of the row. We didn’t discover this until Doris T. died and we discovered Mum was lying in her bed.

My Great Uncle Will Green liked to lie in his coffin. He had it built to be comfortable since he expected to be there a while. Grandma Green got mad and finally had it moved off the front porch.

(I am at least relatively boring.)
