Funny how the hyper religious hypocrite state get the worst of it. Could it be their god telling them not to follow the fatted orange calf into destroying the USA?
In the not too distant future, she will be asking “What island country has been wiped out today?” Humanity’s chickens are coming home to roost. (This idiom was first expressed by English poet Robert Southey, who wrote it as a motto in The Curse of Kehama (1809): “Curses are like young chickens; they always come home to roost.”)
These are once in a lifetime storms. If a lifetime is every couple of years.
They are more intense and they are happening more frequently. If we just call it fake news then they won’t happen but if they do, it’s the liberal’s fault.
All fake by AI. Many people know that. I get posts all the time telling me that they aren’t happening because they haven’t seen them!! I was once informed that the 115F temps in TX were not true and that there are never any floods in FL. It must be true, right?
Maybe climate change deniers will reconsider when their home insurance goes up to $10,000 year. Replacing a $15,000 roof(likely $25,000 if trump deports all the workers willing to get on a 140 degree roof) every 5 years is not cheap.
It’s good thing we have science to explain these weather events.. back in the day it might have been interpreted as the gods being, umm.. annoyed, angry, p**s**d (?) with how the leaders are running (read ruining) the country.
But, given these weather events tend to be in republican states.. maybe there is a God after all.
While I agree with the tenor of the cartoon, I’d like a less provincial view. Permafrost melting in Siberia, Antarctica losing its ice mass, record setting fires in the Amazon (and elsewhere), etc. need to be added to the discussion so a holistic view can be considered.
Mother Nature didn’t wipe anything out. We and our CO2 emissions did all these devastations. And the we’re going, there’s a lot more devastations to come.
I live in the northeast part of New England. I’ll take an ice-storm with a week with no power three times a winter before I’ll live southeast or central plains.
For those promoting the idea that global warming is a hoax, I invite you to visit the American College of Actuaries. If there’s a more sober, data-driven bunch, I’d like to hear about them.

But do not say: climate change. And yes, I know there have always been storms. I have never known of this many and this strong.

Don’t mess with Mother Nature because Mother Nature messes back… big time.

Actually been pretty mild and calm. Great growing season.
Odd. Conditions seem to change every year. Just like the weather to do something like that.

When Mother Nature punishes bad behavior, she doesn’t know when to stop. Then again, we don’t do much about our bad behavior either…
