    That might hurt postcard sales.

The Wild Things roared their terrible roars, gnashed their terrible teeth, rolled their terrible eyes, and showed their terrible claws… and then ate the kid!

Next time, Lio, you may want to warn your friends about the dangers of going to WTWTA…

This strip has been posted here for over seven hours… and still no expressed disgust over the grisly death depicted. As recently as August 12th, a less explicit depiction of a similar doom provoked negative responses.

Maybe the address on the postcard was funny enough to diminish the sting? Maybe the implied cannibalism in the earlier strip (as opposed to this exposure of the culinary proclivities of a monster) was the tipping point?

On the optimistic side, I suppose, is that the wild thing did mail the postcard for its victim.

Dinglebury La. Ha! I have a friend that lives on Morningside Dr. in a northeast town but when I mail him something I always write it as Morningwood Dr. It always arrives at its destination although I would be amused if the USPS sent it back with a note or stamp that says “Grow up!”

Urban Dictionary says : “Dinglebury: A silly, yet funny nickname for the multi-cultural Connecticut town, Danbury.”

I always suspected that the Wild Things’ diet was, uh wild. Sendak was sinister.
