Again, Quill nails it! People who buy those frames will hang the picture in the basement to scare off the roaches and vermin!
Rakkav over 11 years ago
Could this mean that Tiff will bail out on drama camp, leaving an opening for Luann to squeak in? (I’m sure someone came up with this theory yesterday.)Actually, I’m surprise we haven’t heard more about her YouTube presence by now!

If you’ve never had professional makeup done for a show of some sort, you wouldn’t realize, that Gunther is most likely using alcohol to remove the spirit glue that Quill’s wig is most likely secured on with.

I suppose it is too much to hope for that they be toilet seat frames. It would only be fitting.

HELLO FELLOW COMMENT MAKERS: I will be at San Diego Comic Con and I always make a point to see Luann’s creator Greg Evans. I’m providing an email for you guys and I will ask him the best questions I get: luannq_a@yahoo.com. I’m doing it this way because I need your emails as I will be holding a contest later and one of the prizes will be an original sketch by Greg. -Thanks

Cute, seeing Tiff bouncing around like a wind-up toy on wheels! I guess it’s a better thing for Drama Camp in general to have her in a good mood, so let her photographic modeling career begin. Wonder whither it will lead?
blunebottle over 11 years ago
One of the things that comes to my mind is that having her picture so commonly used might work against her as she tries for acting roles…….
fredville over 11 years ago
still would think Luann could OUT ACT Tiffany though…this isn’t modeling camp…..strange.

It’s a job – a professional modeling assignment. A high school girl trying to break into the business would have every right to be excited at getting this gig to add to her resume’. Lets just hope it’s legit and not some cruel scheme by Tiffany’s enemies to lure her away from the camp and her starring role in the play.

schmid13 over 11 years ago
So Tiff stays frozen as an aspiring dumb bimbo. Boys or fame and that’s it. I expected more. Sigh. Quill calls it as he’s sanctified as the new moral standard for the strip. The picture frame opportunity obviously wouldn’t mean recognition, but rather obscurity, as in buried in a wallet or one of 50 pictures at Best Buy. But as a poster said yesterday, the experience and credit will build her portfolio. Tiff may rise to live another day.
seismic-2 Premium Member over 11 years ago
It’s a modeling job. No, nobody who buys a picture frame will know whose photograph comes inside it. You don’t know the names of 99% of the models who appear in ads in magazines or TV commercials, but it’s a job, and it’s a professional credit. Tiffany is striving to accomplish things and get somewhere in the show business world,
ManateeGag over 11 years ago
Tiff’s going to end up like Amanda Bynes. Doing things just for the media attention to keep her “career” going.

Or end up like Lindsey Lohan…who, in my opinion should have been flushed out of the system years ago. Why there’s still interest in her is mind boggling! Just another NO-TALENT low-life.
ErikN over 11 years ago
So, the story could have built to teach something about Tiffany, about her need to be seen and heard, about something that makes her human rather than an example of a cardboard villain. We might not learn to like her, but an idea of her motivations, needs and fears could form her into an actual character. Or this can happen.
bba3555 over 11 years ago
I think that Quill will mention this to Luann. Then, Luann will show up for the gig and be in the frames instead of Tiffany.

Everyone in her school will know who it is in the picture frames at TJ Maxx or Target, and that will give her a bit of cred.
ScarlettAngel over 11 years ago
In some ways I feel sorry for Tiffany. Underneath it all she’s an insecure girl who doesn’t think she has anything better to offer the world than her pretty face. If she tried a bit harder in class she might find something else worthwhile. She hides the insecurity well though, have to give her credit for that.
Cornelius Robinson Premium Member over 11 years ago
The director did a good thing to help save the play. She might be a graduate from the Dale Carnegie School

Is it just me, or does anyone else get get the feeling that this gig isn’t going to work out quite the way Tiff planned?

unless these frames are sold internationally she won’t get nearly that many. the population of the USA is only about 300 million. Then again she doesn’t even know what Washington DC is so how could I expect her to know what the population is?

“But an Aussie with strong accent playing George Washington? Odd casting.”^You’d have to imagine how Hugh Jackman, Daniel Day Lewis, and tohers are able to play their roles… voice coaching, method acting, etc… ==This camp has classes as well as this production, “George”…. at those classes, counselors’ and teachers’ jobs are to help aspiring actors/actresses to learn such things as preparing for a specific character, studying a role (time, place, setting, etc)… all of these things are taken care of, so it is possible that this is what’s going on… (also, you can imagine that the word balloons will read in “Aussie” and “American” versions of English…. so, you can imagine that Quill will correspondingly take on an English/American dialect for the play….
JayBluE over 11 years ago
“More like Lights! Camera! Stupidity!”^Well, the reason that I was saying the word “Inaction”, was because in this instance, the potential “storming off” of the lead roles seemed to have been temporarily averted… thus an ironic twist and play on words to the phrase……

I doubt that a billion people will see her picture. People in Asia, Africa and South America would not find her pale, blond look attractive at all. Drama camp must have a huge budget for costumes. The clothes look pretty elaborate.

Tiffany will do fine in life. She is ambitious and willing to do anything. There is a market for her type, the Kardashians, Paris Hilton and many others. She is typical of many people in entertainment, they all have huge egos and love to look in the mirror.

you obviously have not spent any time in Japan, where blond Caucasian women are often used as spokes-models and such.
There are many blonde women in South America too, and they are often held in regard as great beauties (Shakira).

I think Gunther is more of a wardrobe person as apposed to make-up. In which case it would be his responsibility care for the wig after its use.

This is a legitimate thing for Tiffany to be excited about. I’m as disappointed as anyone about the cheap payoff of the arc, but I’m not going to try to downplay that this is a good opportunity for an aspiring model.
bronzeskater over 11 years ago
I agree also, Sally and Metal maiden. Greg has managed to create "stereotypical "characters with whose stories we can engage at an extraordinary depth. Witness the depth of feeling displayed in the comments—for whomever the commenter is rooting. I rarely comment, but read both comic and comments every day. BTW, Tiff is almost cute in her rapid change of perspective and enthusiasm. I suspect we’re not nearly done with this arc.

“Speaking of a British accent, this is cute and funny at the same time. There is one bad word in it, but they bleeped it out. Lasts about 45 seconds. Betcha watch it more than once. Betcha forward it. Make sure your speakers are on.”
LMAO! Looks like someone just finished watching “The Exorcist!” ;-PPPPP
JayBluE over 11 years ago
“Hugh Laurie”^That’s a good example of someone who can sound “non British”… and in “Jeeves and Wooster”, can return to an English accent…
seismic-2 Premium Member over 11 years ago
English and Australian actors learn American accents from their earliest days in the business, in order to have more opportunities open to them. Many learn to pull it off perfectly. (Think of Peter Sellers as the President of the USA in “Dr. Strangelove”.) American actors don’t work nearly so hard on learning British or other accents, and a native Brit can easily spot the impostor. Sometimes it’s painfully obvious even to Americans, too. (Think of Dick Van Dyke in “Mary Poppins”.)
JayBluE over 11 years ago
It’s also interesting how some singers can be from England and it doesn’t always pick up in their songs… for the longest time, I didn’t even know that Bonnie Tyler (“Total Eclipse of the Heart”, “Holding Out For A Hero”, “It’s A Heartache”) was Welsh…. I guess because she had Meatloaf penned, dramatic songs to sing…lol!

@howtheduck Gunther is in charge of wardrobe dept, including wigs.
schmid13 over 11 years ago
Odd, Gunther seems more like a key staff member with lots of responsibility, yet is working for free.
ORMouseworks over 11 years ago
Perhaps Gunther is gaining needed experience in theatrical wardrobe. He might be seeing it as a second, or maybe even first, career (I haven’t a Clue as to what he aspires to be as an adult.) He’s just as much a “learning volunteer” as the other drama camp students.
TORAD_07 over 11 years ago
“A most obvious example of a UK actor playing an American is, of course, Hugh Laurie as the lead character in ‘House’”
My most notable would be Sir Christopher Lee as “Prof. Alan Driscoll” in the Horror classic, “City of the Dead,” known in the USA as “Horror Hotel.” He even speaks of how he crafted the American accent in the “intro” he did for the DVD. I did not realize, until I saw the DVD that the entire film was shot in the UK. All the actors did USA accents, some better than others. I was able to detect the “imposters.” :)

It is also strange that all the rehearsals seem to be in costume. And it’s particularly strange that a drama camp double as a modeling agency for jobs like this picture frame company. We have also seen almoost nothing of the other campers, or any activities aside from this one play. Much strangeness here, all around.
