Guess one of the stipulations Greg gave to Mr. Gray to allow him to appear in the strip was that he had to be under a “gag order”. I guess that’s why he had all of those servings… After all, you can’t talk with your mouth full! Well…you could … but then no one is going to like the things that come out of your mouth… literally… – Right now, the “X” on the map stands for “X Factor”…

So, Quill WAS able to defuse the Gunther explosion, after all! Good on ya, Quill! And it does look as if Rosa is trying to do some advance planning this time, instead of just guessing at the type of location where they would end up. The map shows possibilities for other adventures, too, since they might be near Macchu Picchu. Hope they get a chance to visit…

Look, Gunther, if you don’t want to go to a remote village with Rosa, why don’t you just say that?! Rosa can’t read your mind, you know! And, besides, she is Really looking forward to this mountain village trip, and may not even want to hear any objections from you. However, like some poster said, they could be captured by some heavy-duty banditos for a reward… Everything is getting muddier and muddier… ;)

On the plus side, Gunther has apparently turned Rosa to the plaid side, so there’s that going for him. It’s even possible he made that shirt for her from scratch, or even that she’s wearing one of HIS shirts…

Well, it is later than I thought! Both the hub and IS Katie are already upstairs! Fortunately, I have some sweats on along with a quilted jacket…it does get quite chilly down here! But, I have my trusty portable oil radiator next to me so I don’t get too cold! Anyway, its time for me to say "Nite all (and to all a good night…rushing the Season, I know, I know!) ;)-————————————————————“Every branch big with it, Bent every twig with it; Every fork like a white web-foot; Every street and pavement mute Some flakes have lost their way, and and grope back upward, when Meeting those meandering down they turn and descend again.”(Thomas Hardy, Snow in the Suburbs , 1840-1928)

Judging from Rosa’s map, their village-goal seems to be in the Pasco region, possibly nearest the town of Oxapampa or the smaller town Pozuzo. Map.

by the map, it looks like we talking about the truck taking them anywhere between Mazamari to Atalaya, might be a rural area like Puerto Ocopa in the rural road 5s. but my bet (because it is between the highest mountains, but still in the mountain range) is around Mazamari or if it is 28c road, might be San martin de pangoa

Were these real people, I’d tell Gunther that things “got complicated” when he opted to leave the country with Rosa, and that he knew and implicitly accepted that at that point. Everything afterwards is simply consequence that he has to cope with.

“Barely Said Six Words”, eh? Well You KNOW What They Say about Those “Quiet Guys,” Right G-Man?

Look: Quietly CLOSE Rosa’s Door, GO to Your Apartment, PACK Your STUFF, and CATCH The NEXT Flight To America. Then “Surprise” Mom and “Mr.Friend” with a “Homecoming” They Won’t SOON Forget.

Besides, the “Gunther-Haters” Around Here NEED a New Reason to VENT….,

Gunther and Rosa are so different. Gunther needs to plan everything to the last detail. Rosa seems to like flying by the seat of her pants. Even if it means landing the same way.

Gunther appears to be looking for reasons to come home. Needs to step out of his comfort zone once in a while. He will be a total buzz kill for Rosa on this “expedition” of hers. He will complain about everything.

Greg suddenly has a slightly more logical reason for Gunther’s concern (Mr. Gray might be a creep). It’s as if he’s been reading everyone’s incredulous responses over the past couple weeks! If only he’d been able to rein in the madness sooner by, say, not writing Gunther as so primitive in the first place.

I have been contemplating these panels while I indulge in a vanilla tinctured burley leaf in the bowl of my pipe, and I have reached the following “startling” conclusions:++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++1. Rosa is sort of a “flake”. I have been feeling this ever since Rosa reached Peru and had no inclination her uncle was a plastic surgeon. She is being just as flaky now as she was at the start of this post graduation misadventure. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++2. Gunther is becoming truly “annoying” at this time. Not because he is upset about big ‘ole Mr. Gray. Also, not because of his acquiescence to working in a cubical. And, also not because of his going on this hair-brained (aka flaky) scheme in the first place…. Gunther is being truly annoying by ONLY displaying the behavior of needing to ALWAYS be being lead around from place to place in his decision making process. He is like a bull, no strike that, he is like a lamb with a ring in its nose waiting for someone to string a rope through the ring to guide him on his next step. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++3. Quill (previously “Bland Quill”) is the most dynamic person in the story arc currently. That is not saying much, but it is an improvement in Quill’s character.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++As I finish my pipe, I need to state that it is quite remarkable how Greg can imbue such feelings in us with his drawings and story arcs. He is truly a artisan and craftsman.

hmm…forgive my ignorance of the current political situation in Peru, but is Rosa’s plan to go into the mountains in hopes of finding needy villagers going to have them run into some dangerous militants or cartels that have an overall low opinion of privileged American teenagers?

Gunther is really getting pitiful when he is showing jealousy towards his mother’s (rather bland) “friend.” Rosa had better realize that if she wants a relationship with him, she will have to take second place to Ma Berger in Gunther’s affections.

Mrs. Berger would have a similar reaction to Nancy, but likely one of some embarrassment instead of anger. She would then joke about it later.-You don’t think she would start chatting with him?
