Any bets on whether tomorrow’s episode will involve Nancy and Shannon, or Luann and Pru?

There’s a fork in the plot, and it could go either way.

Theater camp. These teens are drama teens, so it will be 20 times worse. Luann and Prudence may wish for Shannon to come back in order to get some relief.

I never ever want to be around teens. Except in my classroom where they only sit at their desks and know my rule – leave all their drama outside my room otherwise they will go and join their drama outside and principal/counselor will be notified and parents emailed. Their drama are always mountains made out of molehills and very tiresome and I’ve no patience with it. I leave that to other people better trained for those stuff. I only teach and feed the mind. Teens are the most hormonal and mixed up people I know and I was one once and never want go there again. I’ll take Shannon any time.

Just think, Luann – you and Brad most probably left messes just like that. Hey, your room is usually worse than that…

Good luck getting anything done, Nancy. Shannon is sweet until she doesn’t get her way, then you get to deal with screaming and crying.

Jonah never goes to a baby sitter that has the time and expects payment. He goes and guilts his sister into taking over his responsibilities no matter the inconvenience it may cause them.

Sometimes writers confuse the age of kids. Six year-olds are messy, but not to that degree: besides, they can usually wash their own hands by that time. I am also wondering why Shannon is still sitting in a booster. She is too old and plus with her personality, I am surprised she would.

If Prudence will be working at a drama camp this summer, who will be working at Kafe Kablooie? Will TJ manage the food and drinks, assisted by Ox and Les? How busy is the place? How many folks go to the Fuse on a typical day (and why?)?

Hey Shannon! Ma DeGroot is taking You to the Fuse! Isn’t that Exciting??

They let You eat All the Ice Cream you want there and dress up like a Pretty Princess!!

But they got this Mean Old Les Knox working for them! He HATES little Kids JUST-LIKE-YOU!!

But We aren’t Afraid, are We? Remember that Mean old Ann Eiffel Lady? Well we gonna do the SAME to Him as We did to Her!

So when You see Les, BITE Him!!! Real, Real HARD! Aim for His Nose! Then EVERYTHING will be Right Again!

Oh, and Your Uncle Gunther say’s if You manage to draw BLOOD, He’ll buy you a brand new Playstation4!!! Isn’t that Wonderful???

Well this arc is quite developed, and developing. Theater camp at the Fuse? Hormonal teenagers? It seems to me that some of the main characters, such as Bernice, or Tiffany might still be having some issues of that sort. It is so clear to that Shannon is very loving to Nancy, as she is to Luann and Pru; it explains to why Brad is so loving and patient with her. He has wonderful parents, particularly his mom, to thank for that. It should be interesting though to see where this arc goes now that it appears we are going to the Fuse.

So we now get to meet a new teenage cast, and the strip can reboot around them? Will Luann or Pru be the new Fogarty, quickly realizing the futility of trying to instill any sense of purpose in that bunch of dullards?

Yesterday the number of comments was 255, enough to make Luann the “most commented” on GoComics. That makes the “tissue issue” the topic most people cared enough to comment on. “Tissue Issue” is a phrase I heard way back on an episode of Maude. (the series ran from 1972-1978.) And in that episode the remark was made that the issue was a longstanding one!

Mention of the theater camp suggests that maybe Shannon will find a role there. I hope so. When she gets focused on something , like her previous dance routine, she has a one track mind…

@NATHANLEETURNER: Nancy is the only person in Shannon’s life who is not only a parent, but who acts like one (Unlike Jonah. Anyone who seems content to make last minute child care arrangements can’t be assumed to be very responsible about things like teaching a child what ‘no, you can’t do that right not’ means.) If this arc continues to be about Shannon, I hope that Nancy provides her with the guidance she needs, as well as the care and love…

I don’t remember being quite that messy at six, and if I was , I was trained very quickly to clean up after myself.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Jonah’s agent had got him a job as an assistant instructor at a Drama Camp? And he found Pru as his boss?

But I do not think we will get to see the drama camp with Lu and Pru, sadly. Instead, more slightly revelatory dialogue between the two before they get to the camp. Or maybe some adventures of Shannon at the Fuse….

At first I thought we were going into a third week of Shannon’s antics but then I realized that the strip an actual segue to a new story arc — the drama camp. There’s so much potential that this could go on for weeks as Luann and Tiffany’s dopplegangers fight over boys.

So now Nancy will get a little Shannon ‘in-FUZE-ion’ this week. Hmmmm … I said earlier that there would possibly be a DeGroot family meeting, including B&T. The discussion would be on Shannon, but more so on the root of this issue – that being – whatzhizname now? – Oh, yeah! Jonah!!

Did anyone notice in the second panel how Shannon went to hug Luann’s mom, and how Luanne’s mom put her head on Shannon? Notice that content smile on Shannon’s face.
