Well in a sane world there would be a way to remove a president for crimes that wasn’t easily obstructed by his party despite the other leaders of it outright admitting he did wrong but they won’t hold him accountable. Like a code of ethics that actually has consequences beyond a finger wag. Same applying to the courts themselves since at this point there’s no less than 4 judges that absolutely have no right to be there.

Korea and Brazil certainly learned how.

The problem with our system is that is assumes that everyone will be an adult and respect the rights of others. And when one branch of government forgets that, the other two can combine forces to box the other one out and get back on track. The weakness is when one group locks up all three branches at the same time. What happens then? We are going to find out the hard way.

Under ordinary circumstances, judges have the police to help them enforce their ruling, but I don’t think that would work with a president.

The good news is that we don’t know for sure what the loophole is. When I first read about it more than 20 years ago, I thought it was amusing. No so much, now.

Now let him enforce it.” Strictly speaking, there is no evidence to show that he really said that; there is evidence to show that there was a ruling and that he didn’t care.

To be sure, while he was president, there were some rumblings about slave states departing the Union; Andy, a True Son of the South and a slave owner, let it be known that he would personally lead the US Army to retake any state which bailed, and would hang any traitors he found. Some said that this was an unconstitutional attitude. Andy let it be known that he didn’t care. The rumblings ceased. Zach Taylor, another True Son of the South and slave owner, had more rumblings while he was prez; he had Andy’s attitude. The rumblings ceased. Unfortunately, Zach didn’t last too long, and his successors were… not that good, not until Lincoln. Some said that some of Lincoln’s actions were unconstitutional; Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, Farragut, and Scott (the last two also True Sons of the South) disagreed. Scott was the one who planned the Anaconda, the strangling of the slavers; Grant, Sherman, and Farragut made the Anaconda work. The four greatest victories of the Federal forces were Vicksburg, Grant cutting the slavers in two (“The Father of the Waters again flows unvexed to the sea”) and Hampton Roads, Monitor chasing Virginia away in the greatest single-ship battle ever fought by the US Navy, and New Orleans and Mobile Bay, Farragut taking the two biggest ports the slavers had. You’ll notice that Marse Bob Lee was nowhere near. Nothing he did ended up mattering.

Generally, speaking, police enforcement is done by the executive branch. Not the judiciary. Therein lies the problem.

Again, this lying cartoonist is trying to get people to believe that the Trump admin is evil incarnate. If he really believes that the US Supreme Court has no power to enforce their rulings, then let the cartoonist not follow a ruling. Then he will find out if the Court has power.

The Supreme Court has been making decisions for 248 years. Some were great decisions and some were bad. So far only Joey Biden refused to obey the Court’s ruling and we can forgive him for being such a loser and low witted old man. The ruling was on forgiveness of loan debts, to remind you.

Trumpie and the GOP has been more democratic and for freedom that the dems. It wasn’t the GOP that told two states not to allow their citizens to vote in the primary, because they wanted Hillary as a candidate. Nor was it the GOP that removed a candidate and made Kamala one.

When we re-write the Constitution in the post-apocalypse era, we need to include a provision that both the Legislative and Judicial branches have enforcement mechanisms for if the Executive refuses to comply with a declaration that a law or action is unconstitutional. This should include, but not be limited to, their own standing armies. I know it sounds “Game of Thrones-y,” but if it’s necessary, it’s necessary.

This is what happens when you put someone with no respect for the law in charge of enforcing the law.

Judges too often believe themselves to be gods; their word is the law. We have a system of appeal to higher courts, and so far have honored the adjudications of successively higher courts. None of the current disputes has as yet exhausted all appeals.

Let’s hope it’s not too late. Trump was given license to do whatever he wants. He now owns the Dept of Defense, the Dept of Homeland Security, the Dept of Education, the Dept of Health, the Dept of Justice, and the House and Senate and who knows how many judges would rule in his favor? Who is going to hold him accountable for defying court orders? Who is going to stop him from “retiring” the generals and admirals and replacing them with his loyal stooges? Who is going to stop him from starting a war then declaring Martial Law when elections come around?It may sound far-fetched, but is it really?

I’m so sick and tired of the leftist whining. I like the cartoon when it’s not being political…and since we have a great 1st Amendment, the author has a right to say what he wants in it. I don’t have to agree, and I have a right to say so as well. I voted for Trump. I want less govt, less spending, real women in womens sports, Senate and Congress persons to be held accountable regardless if they’re GOP or DEM, the end of giving our taxpayer money to foreign countries…the list goes on. I really hope Vern and RJ stay cute, keep raiding fridges, keep jumping into hot tubs, but this political crap? I won’t tag the heart on this page for this.
