The joke about Sally, aside, I doubt there actually were any log cabins. The whole concept of a log cabin involves a situation in which trees are plentiful and skilled woodworking skills are scarce. In 1800 Kentucky, Lincoln’s father could chop down whatever trees he wanted, and it didn’t require great carpenter’s skills to make walls of the logs. But in a long worked, arid area like Palestine, trees were scarce. And in the wealthier regions of the Roman Empire in the reign of Augustus, carpenters were available. Jesus’s father was one.
Sally’s confusing the patriarch Abraham with Abraham Lincoln. That’s understandable. I remember, when I was a little kid, when I first heard the term “Israelites”, I was thinking that it was something like Christmas lights.
A Sunday school teacher tells the students to draw a picture of the Nativity. One little boy draws the stable and the Holy Family, the animals, etc. but adds a little circular fellow in the corner. Teacher is puzzled and asks, “OK, I see Mary, and Joseph, and Baby Jesus, but who is this little guy?” Kid answers, “That’s Round John Virgin!”
Bethlehem is spending christmas in the dark this year because lights attract the occupying forces, and they don’t want to be bombed to death by US foreign policy

If you see Abe Lincoln, you’ve made a wrong turn and the wrong millennium.

Maybe Sally wants a set of Lincoln logs for Christmas?

When I saw the river Jordan, it seemed more like a creek. A local man told us, “yes, Americans always expect it to be like the Mississippi”.
That was quite a few years ago.

If there was ever an example of an All American Christmas Story, Sally has definitely provided it.

Only Sally could get Abraham Lincoln mixed up in the Nativity story. Merry Christmas.
