Opal missed her cue the first time he asked. She should have taken the opportunity to say, I hoped that you would take me out for dinner. :)

Earl why don’t you cook then you may have whatever you want :-)

Therefore, gods.

The typical answer would be, “What do you want?” and Earl will answer “I don’t know” etc.! Been there!

Maybe Earl should take her out to dinner.

There’s also a space in Earl’s tummy that needs to be filled.

Opal’s looking to heavens as if to say “Lord, give me strength not to kill this man!”

Sounds like an Arby’s night.

You’re eating out tonight!

I’ll bet if HE started cooking, she would get off her ass in a REAL hurry…..

Earl needs a snack to keep his mind off dinner….the cats expression is precious.

Q woman in our book club has a husband like Earl—cranky and demanding. she has “fall-out dinners all the time. I don’t know, Reg, open the refrigerator and whatever falls out, you can have.”

The proper response for Opal to make was “I don’t know, what are you making?”

Opal has had time to think about it, does he have to ask 4 or 5 or 6 times before she decides.

Earl, maybe some cooking lessons?

We share the cooking in our house but there are those occasions when neither of us feels like cooking ( usually on Friday or Saturday night ) and either take out or restaurant time. Then the discussion is “What do you feel like eating?” “I don’t know/care, what do you feel like?” And so it goes…

That’s why I cook. Me: “What’s for dinner?” Me: “whatever you want.” Me: “Sounds good!”

For over 60 years now I have been deciding what we’re going to have for dinner. If I win the lottery, I’m going to hire a chef who’ll decide for me!

I printed this and posted it on the fridge. Makes sense to me.

OK Earl start yourself a Food Journal and you can put “Don’t know yet” till you eat and fill it in the next day. Has worked for me for many years.

It doesn’t do much to fill your belly either!

Order pizza to be delivered.

Earl: “What’s for supper?”

Opal: “Surprise me…”

That space in my brain is shaped like an enchilada…

I have to ask my wife, “Have we eaten dinner yet? Did I like it?”
