They’ve known each other a long time. So long that the whole discussion is kind of just a decoration around what’s going to happen.
My wife and I agree completely that a pepperoni pizza belongs on someone ELSE’s table. Give us fennel, artichoke, dried tomato and basil with plenty of EVOO and Parmesan!
I sometimes ask the GF where she wants to go while driving just before we approach a (not busy) roundabout. Take it slow and casual, no more than three spins.
Why are they having this conversation? Personal pizza is the only way to go, no discussion. Me: thin crust, red onion, bell pepper, artichokes or banana peppers and I save some for later. Him: 2 meats, black olives, cheese, regular crust, never any leftovers. Sometimes he gets thin crust now and sometimes I have light cheese but there’s just no middle ground here and we’re happy.
For all such situations in our 40 years my wife and I have always been very open to discussing all of the pros and cons of a given situation, considering deeply each of our interests, keeping in mind our own expectations of the results, and then we agree to do it her way.
It’s in black and white so we have more to occupy our time while practicing social distancing. Save the strip to your computer, then open it in Paint or some other program, and have fun coloring it in yourself.
I was never a big pizza fan until I met my wife. She uses flavorful cheeses, herbs and ingredients that have a unique essence not usually spread on a typical pizza. Plus her crusts have such wonderful texture and flavor

(Note to the colorist for tomorrow: Pepperoni pizza is yellow, with brown around the edge and red dots.)

She needed an answer to reject. Nothing really new.

End of Days must be coming. Everything is going black and white.

Funny but I hear the same conversation going on downstairs between the 40-somethings and it usually gets louder near the end.

I resent Brian sneaking into MY house and using our “discussions” as material for his strip! Jeepers!

Pepperoni, mushroom, and extra cheese…all other alternative toppings are not suitable for a sacrament.

Ha! It’s HER way or NO way! Why does she even bother asking Earl if she’s gonna do what she wants anyway?
