It was bad enough to look in the mirror one morning and see my father staring back at me – but worse years later when it was my grandfather looking back at me.
The time when my oldest grandson got big enough to wear any of my clothes was very short. I’m 6’ and for a brief time so was he … until he had another growth spurt and shot up to 6’ 3".
My father was 5’ 8" for his adult life. As he aged, he shortened up. One time I took him to a Dr. appointment and he was asked how tall he was, and he said 5’ 8". She looked at him and said, “Here, let’s get a good measurement of you”. He had shrunk down to 5’ 4"! I knew it because I was taller than he was. When she told him that, he was in total astonishment! I think by the time he passed at 102 & almost a 1/2, he had lost another inch.

Smart kid. But really is saying that he doesn’t want to wear your old fashioned clothes.

Grandma may have a problem with it, but not the problem Nelson is worried about…

There is the weight issue. If Earl wears Nelson’s clothes, he may have trouble breathing.

I love this. It’s the sort of thing I did with my son and granddaughters. And now with my two year old great granddaughter. Ah, the circle of life!
