Why in the sam heck would ANYONE clutter a table for a task at hand, with a bunch of old crap? And who even keeps old cards ? It’s a good indicator of what their closets, garage, attic, and shelves, etc…. look like.

For a while, in Grade School we had to sell boxes of Christmas Cards to make money for the school. It became a contest as to who could sell the most boxes. The same kids usually won because their fathers sold their cards to many people at their jobs. I have not liked Christmas Cards since then. Although, if my young nieces had offered them I would have bought cards, out of pity.

We keep sending cards to older people on our list, in case they are lonely. This year we’re cutting out Millennials and younger relatives, since they never send cards to us.

I used to send cards with a personal message inside, but all I ever got back were cards with signatures, or even worse, printed/embossed cards. I stopped sending cards because of that. If they can’t be bothered to add a personal note, then they don’t deserve to get one from me.

She must have washed her face. In 1977 it was 5 cents for a postage stamp and I got $500/mo. Now it’s 73 cents and my $ hasn’t kept pace! Groceries have sure risen though! In 1970 it was 24 cents for gas, now it’s $3 at Costco.

We get a hand signed card from a local home repair contractor every year. We didn’t even hire them – all they did was provide an estimate that was too high. Marketing.

Sounds like you should check the address on the envelope to make sure it was really sent to the correct address.

got the annual brag letter from some relatives yesterday… gosh I hate those things!!

A very old friend of mine would send out Christmas letters every year detailing what went on with his family the past year. Haven’t seen one in a while and no Christmas cards either. I send him a card on three occasions, his birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas. In hindsight, I send about 20 cards and get 5 back on average. All good, I love sending them.

Just so the penmanship is memorable.
