I do that with my athletic shoes. The laces are so long if i didn’t double knot them i’d would trip on them.

With the round shoelaces used these days, you should double-knot them. It frustrates the Shoelace Gremlins who delight to see Pluggers struggle to bend over to re-tie!

Have to double-knot sneakers with round laces. Go to Ian’s shoelace site for alternate knots.

But now there are many brands offering shoes that look normal, but do,in fact, just slip on. They have laces and everything.I must admit, I love mine.

Shoes with wide Velcro straps with fake shoe laces on them? (I’d probably still trip on them.) Jeans with a velcro fly? With a ‘rip cord’ to open it.

Still double knotting . No crocs for this Plugger. Too loose to walk in.

I only do that with my old work boots because the lases are so long. Would either step on the end and untie it or step on the end and loop and stumble..

Velcro. But I prefer the efficiency of tying my shoes in such a way that I can on or off without re-tying.

At this point in my life, I’m still capable of tying my own shoes and so long as I can do so, I will. When I’m no longer able? Depends I guess.

The new Skechers slip-on laced shoes are great, too.

None of my Plugger friends have shoe laces anymore, it’s all Velcro straps or loafers. I tied the laces one time loosely with a tight knot on my New Balance walking shoes, and then easily slip them on/off.

You can find a way to tie your laces as strong as a double knot and it’s just as easy as a single knot to untie. https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/

Even shoes that are only vaguely athletic come with excess lace length these days. Some boot laces are so long I wrap them around the boot top once before tying.

I double knot them since I learned how to tie them. I did not double knot them when I was seven as I could still not tie my laces when I that age. I was close to ten before I could tie them and have double knotted them ever since. My mom would tie my shoes before I went to school. If they came untied I would stick the ends in the sides of my shoes until I got home.
